Everytime my daughter sees AKA on anything she says "Mommy that lady's shirt say A-K-A. She is one of your sisters. You have a lot of sisters everywhere!"

That is too cute! When my 3 year old daughter started asking questions about my Sorors I would tell her those are my sisters so it would be easier for her to understand. She spends so much time around us that one day she looks at my husband and said "mommy has alot of sisters, where are your brothers?". We just looked at her and started laughing.

LOL. It's funny too because she is beginning to understand the interworkings of a family. So she knows that her grandad is my father, and her uncle is my brother, etc. So she kind of looked confused like "are all of these people my aunts?" LOL.

Just yesterday, I found out that this chick I know got herself blacklisted (don't ask). She says "I learned my lesson. I'm content without having letters on my chest."

My response "Well, you pretty much have to be content seeing as how you're blacklisted and all "

She called me a jerk. *shrugs shoulders*

more annoying than funny

I know this woman from an org we are both in. She proceeds to tell me how I made the wrong choice and how 19** was better and goes on and on. I just look at her. when she finishes I state, get some letters before you tell me who's the best and I K.I.M

Bad move on her part. Your response was on point.

In reference to one of our neos, who is *still* in a pink and green haze (KIM her line crossed November 20th):

Random girl---"So, do you HAVE to wear pink and green in order to be an AKA?" She was serious as all get out, too.

I almost answered "Yep " but I knew that would be equally foolish. I just winked and told her "it takes more than colors to be a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha".

Also--due to our constantly getting bags and other goodies from regionals, clusters and Boule, we are always sporting a new bag, keychain, sweatshirt, etc. So my chapter is constantly bombarded with "Damn. Does everything come in pink and green and with the letters A, K and A?"

Jokey answer: "Yep."
Serious answer:"Yep"

When I was a neo and was wearing my APO letters, some guy stepped up to me, saw my letters, and asked, "Whaddareya, part Alpha and part Que?"

So I answered his inane question with an equally inane answer:

"Yep." And I K.I.M.

Last night at a fashion show I was in (I do model), at the end of the show me and another bruh who's also a model were taking a picture. Some random guy jumps in our picture and says. "Let a future brother get in. You know I look like one anyway."

We both looked at him like he had just set himself on fire. Luckly a female model came and grabbed him before we "mollyhopped" him...lol!
