silver looks weird on me. Gold matches nicely. Besides, my watch is gold, doesn't particularly look good with silver. :P

lol, i don't cae if you wear silver, gold - just make sure you stick to one - one of my biggest pet peeves is people who wear an all gold watch, silver hoops, gold necklace, and silver rings.. ugh drives me insane

Re: Christmas!

1. Has anybody started Christmas shopping yet?
I haven't. No time yet, and plus I usually am the last-min. shopper . The 23rd and 24th of Dec. are ALWAYS memorable days for me, each year...

2. What ONE item do you want most for Christmas this year?
Dunno. Haven't yet had the time to really think about it, unfortunately...

3. What are you getting for your Significant Other?
See number 2's answer.

Gold vs. silver

I think both gold and silver are pretty in some cases. But I think what truly matters is which looks best on you. On me, silver clashes with my (warm) skintone. White gold looks the best on me.

Well now that today is the first day in over a month that the High here in NEBRASKA is going to be lower than 60 (of course the week of Homecoming when we were out everynight guarding the display it was 35that's me being very cold), I feel a little bit better thinking about christmas.

1. I've thought about it, I think some Beta "mom" stuff for my mother, Nebraska paraphenalia for my little brother, and who knows what I'll get for my dad.

2. A cell phone, I hate the campus phone system--what a pain, and people are a little bit more stingy w/ their minutes than they were back in HS (probably b/c mommy and daddy are no longer paying for the plan), so a cell is becoming more and more necessary. Also some gift cards to A & F or Hollister would be great.

3. Don't have a SigOth...yet, hopefully my date to formal will pan out to be as awesome as I think she is now, and that this other guy will get out of the picture. So if I do, then it'll probably be something like flowers delivered to her house the day after finals.

Flowers delivered after finals-oh you will put the other guy to shame-that is sooooo thoughtful and it is making me melt in my shoes.

Hey gals-need advice, I have a gold senior A&M ring that I wear 24/7-aggie rings are a tradition and very special so I wear it all the time, but I hate gold and with my skin tone and clothes silver looks better plus it is more affordable. So-am I commiting a huge faux pas? I dont' wear silver rings on the hand I wear my gold ring but sometimes on the opposite-should I stop this?
Having a silver aggie ring is an option but then no one knows that it is an aggie ring. 99% of aggies wear there senior rings and it so neat when you are in a completely different state and someone sees your ring and they happen to be an aggie too.
Please be brutally honest-

Thanks Karen

Girl, you knew I'd just HAVE to chime in on this one right?

It's your AGGIE RING!!!! Do you really need to ask?

I must admit, I too have pondered this dilemma as I really don't own any more than like 2 pieces of gold jewelry. But, in the end I think it's just a crime against all that is sacred to get a silver (it's really white gold, I think) Aggie ring. From all of the other ladies I've polled, I think the general consensus is: as long as that (& maybe your engagement/wedding ring) is all that's gold, it's not TOO bad to wear silver with it. But, note, we're talking small silver studs,a simple watch or a delicate chain not "fly-girl" hoops & the like. I think the key to this dilemma is remembering: simple, subtle, sophisticated

Regards from Aggieland,
Gig Em & BTHO t.u.!!!!!

Thumbs up gig'em

I know Allison, and probably since you are the only aggie other than me here you are the only one that truly knows the importance of the aggie ring. I have a friend that wears silver on the other hand and it looks ok to me so I guess I will just continue to do what I have been doing and hopefully no one will cringe if they see both silver and gold on me.

have fun if you are going to the game-I have to work

BTHO TU

I haven't really started yet. Every damn toy that comes on TV, Paige says "Mommy I want that." She is her mother's child.

I bought a racing package at the Richard Petty track in Orlando for Brent but now I find out he can't do it (it has to do with a life-threatening injury he has and a lawsuit, I'll leave it at that.) So now I am at a loss.

I want a pair of diamond earrings set in platinum or white gold. I wear my diamond studs (set in gold) basically every day of my life, but I am anal about matching stuff (belt to shoes to purse, gold to gold, silver to silver) and I want something to go with my silver stuff. What I REALLY want is a bigger rock but I think that is what he is doing for my 30th b-day in May. I just love big gaudy jewelry. Actually any jewelry will do for Xmas, I have some CZs set in silver that will do for the earring thing.

I have no idea what we are doing for the holidays yet. We have talked about getting away just the 2 of us but my dad is probably flying in for Xmas. He and his wife usually go out of the country for the holiday but her daughter is due to have her baby Jan 3 and she wants to be here. All I know is I'M not having it at my house!!!!!!!!!!!! (Been there done that never again!!!!)

1. Has anybody started Christmas shopping yet?
Yes

2. What ONE item do you want most for Christmas this year?
Furniture...or a guy to kiss under the mistletoe

3. What are you getting for your Significant Other?
Well, since I am single, I guess I will list what I am getting for my family, who is very small. Mom: a pair of diamond stud earrings and a handblown glass ornament. Dad: I have no idea. Brother: a leather bound biography on Andrew Jackson. Sis-Inlaw: paraffin bath. Shelbie (my doggie): a stocking full of basted pig ears lol

Yes, beware the basted pigs' ears....at Target you can get a big bag of rawhide chips, totally plain, for like 6.99. They are just as good as the pigs' ears.....my dog likes the big old rawhide bones. EVERYTHING makes her barf and she tolerates these just fine. Make sure you get ones that say "No stain".....even if they are the plain ones they can stain if they don't specifically indicate.

I have this problem too.....I like to wear both gold and silver, and I was totally not thinking when I selected my wedding ring. It isn't a traditional band, it is this big chunky piece that closes like a clamshell around my solitaire and so you see this big mass of gold. Plus I also have a chunky gold/diamond anniversary ring that I wear with it. Obviously I wear them every day, so what to do when I want to wear my silver or white stuff? I solved this problem by getting a white gold tennis bracelet with tiny yellow gold accents to wear on my left wrist....it ties in the yellow but also the white. Then on my right I will wear my all-white rings or my two-tone....I am big on two tone. Even a tiny bit of yellow makes the difference. I have a big chunky silver ring with a pear-shaped green toumaline....the bezel setting on the stone is yellow gold and there is a tiny swirl of yellow that extends from the setting. It is predominantly silver but there is just enough gold to save the look. Then I can wear my white necklaces and white earrings with no prob.
