Alpha Sigma Tau
Sigmafia (Mafia Theme)
Black Shirts with print on them like from the movie Godfather
(once in the family...always in the family, faithful until death)
Bid them with an "offer they just can't refuse"

Events could include an italian feast or game night (poker or casino night)

We have used another theme...I think we got it from a chapter in TN....Tau Hiti Paradise a beach theme.

That's a cute idea.. (but then I just love The Godfather!). One thing though - I wouldn't put "Faithful unto Death" on the shirts because that is Tri-Sigma's open motto.

But I like the "We made them an offer they couldn't refuse" for bid day shirts, hehe. Very creative!

Delta Chi doesn't generally theme our bid days, but we themed last year's skit night as "Taullywood" (Hollywood). It was so cute (we had a red carpet and everything! and we gave the rushess popcorn and candy and cokes for while they were watching the skit)! You could do something like that for bid day and give everyone sunglasses and treat them like stars or something fun like that.

(PS - When we were popping the popcorn for skit night, the microwave caught on fire! Good thing we did it early... we had time to air out the room / borrow a sister's microwave... but skit night was definitely a... blast! )

And if you did the Taullywood theme, the shirts could say, "Why wish on a star when you can be one?"

Just a few off the top of my head. But isnt it a little short notice to plan for themes for a fall recruitment. I reccomend at least choosing the theme and the letters to order before summer break.
-Greek Goddess - less animal house; more Aphrodite, lovely white satin togas, columns, and grape vines, baclava
-Tauhiti-overdone of course, but if you havent done it in a few years, well worth it.
-AST Under the Sea - check out Andersons for some great kits to decorate, we had a giant octopus made of ballons
-Wizard of Oz - cute letters with checked gingham
-pajama party - best for a more informal rush or COB where individual invitations are sent, and rushees can dress accordingly
-Anchors away - overdone also but if you havent done it in a few years....less navy more cutesy
