I don't post here often any more, but I'll try to check back to see if you post any replies or anything.
Any event with food is usually a good idea. Try to schedule some cookouts. Or maybe try an outing with some activity, such as paintball ,college sporting event, etc. Be sure to plan in advance with your chaptermates so as many (if not every) member can be there. Annouce the event to potential recruits with enough time for them to plan to be there - a week or more. Try not to just make these events an open call. Pick the guys you are interested in to invite. You'll have to plan this well in advance. This is where you have to do some homework. Some brothers might know guys from their hometowns. You may be able to get a list of incoming freshman from your school. After some time of eating and socializing, have a brother or two speak quickly and informally about what ATO means to him. Be sure to follow up about the event with the guys your extremely interested in.
Call National Headquarters and talk to your leadership consultant about Blue Chip recruiting and ask for more ideas. Those guys are there to support you. Since I'm not an undergrad, I'm not sure if they still teach it, but I know Tim Carder at Headquarters will know what your talking about if you ask him. We started a version of Blue Chip 4 years ago and it really jump started our Rush.
