Joey Gilbert, an SAE from Reno, won his fight 4/17 in quite an upset.

I read a story on ESPN.com's Page 3 today where the guy he defeated said that Joey was a lot stronger than him, but it didn't translate into more punching power. He said he thought he hurt Joey more than Joey hurt him and that if the fight had gone longer he would have won.

He also said that Joey was one of his best friends on the show, but added that he thought the injury stuff was a bit of gamesmanship. He had some strong things to say despite their alleged friendship.

Unfortunately, Joey was eliminated Sunday.

yes i saw that. i only saw the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds. i thought he had that match too. best of luck to him.

From what I read, he had a broken rib and was lucky to be able to finish. I'll be keeping an eye on him.
