Physical Therapy

Is anyone here a physical therapist or going to school for their DPT? I am considering it, although it would be a huge career change for me as I am in my mid 30s. Am I crazy?

I have to complete a lot of pre-requisites and get some volunteer experience under my belt before even applying, so I would probably end up in the class of 2013 at the earliest. But I am going to be 40 years old then whether I like it or not so I might as well be a 40 year old PT!

I was just wondering if there are usually older students in DPT programs or would I feel like the old lady that no one wanted to associate with? And also how would the admissions people look at me, would I be taken seriously or have an extra hard time getting in?

I'd also love to hear any of your experiences in general with school and practicing as a PT. Thanks!
