Flying on an airline with your badge....

In October I will be flying Delta Airlines to RI; so my dilemma is this, and I hope brothers who fly frequently can answer: I don't want to put my badge in my luggage in case it gets lost, would rather carry it in my pants pocket in it's case. Do most airlines allow jewelry of this type? Thanks in advance....

Roy,

Traveling with badges is no problem whatsoever. I have flown with over 400 fraternal pins in my carry on, and the TSA might look, but it's no problem.

As for your badge, you can wear it, but it might set off the detectors when you walk through. Same thing in a pocket. And if it fell off, retracing your steps would be almost impossible.

I would suggest putting it in your carry on bag. That's the safest way. Have a great trip!

You might consider putting it into a small pill bottle before you stow it in the bag; if you have a chapter guard with that small, fine chain then the bottle will prevent it from getting twisted and perhaps broken. The bottle is also larger and easier to find amid the contents of the bag.

I have a small case that I keep it in and I was going to put it in my carryon but remove it from there to be hand inspected before I board the flight and let them know up front what it is. I really don't fly very often and want to make my flight as smooth as possible.

Thanks, my brothers...and one guest Phi Mu...

Shoot, show up to most of us pharmacies and unless the pharmacy staff's a bunch of dicks, we'd easily hand over a small 20 dram vial. Esp if you come to my Wag's in Clayton, MO.

Adam
