Is there a local on your campus? Go check them out. Locals are very different from each other, so unless someone is on your campus, there's not really a way for us to answer you on the specifics.

Check with your Greek Life office.

ETA: "do they have houses on campus?" You don't know this already?

Ever local is different, thus the beauty of joining a local. Check with your Greek Life office.

"I am thinking about leaving my NPC sorority. You all told me I couldn't join another NPC group even though I was dirty rushed into mine and that I'd have to join a local. This was the other thread I posted under another forums name. How do I find a local to join? Where do I sign up? Gosh you guys are the keenest!"

You mean you are thinking about RUSHING a local? Like NPC sororities, there *is* a recruitment process, you don't automatically get to join.

The beauty of being in a local, is that with only one chapter, it assures you that random weirdos and their roommates from the internet don't become your sisters.

She's a little confused:

There isn't even any plausible logic to two screennames for this situation.

What I do know about locals is that they're not an automatic substitute for those who initiated into NPC orgs and then wound up hating them after initiation.
