Rhode Island Recruitment Results

I saw some ladies talking about URI in one of the last posts--here are the results:

Quota: 17

Alpha Chi Omega: 17
Alpha Delta Pi: 17
Alpha Phi:17
Chi Omega:12 (22 after snap bids and COB)
Delta Zeta: 17
Phi Sigma Sigma: 4
Sigma Delta Tau: 9
Sigma Kappa: 17 (19 after COB)

Two houses were above ceiling (85) after formal, and two were very close. Overall, a kind of disapointing 42% (?) of women that began recruitment were placed in houses. A huge amount of women dropped out during the process, and there were quite a few women who suicided and did not receive bids.

I don't want to sound negative--our girls were very excited about their new member class, and are ready to begin COBing next week! The women that stayed in recruitment were great--URI's houses got some wonderful women this week!

Kelly you are wonderful! Yay for you for giving me this information, I was dying not knowing. It's so hard to be so involved with a school and to no longer have the information!

One question though, I heard that ceiling went up to 95 last year, do you know anything about that? I think a freshman told me, so maybe she didn't really know what she was talking about. Oh, and can you tell me who is above ceiling?

No, ceiling is still 85. There was no talk of raising it among the alums at bid matching this year, either. Even though we lost a house, we still have the local recruiting on campus.

Alpha Chi Omega and Alpha Phi are above ceiling. I am pretty sure Alpha Phi is the largest sorority now as well. If I remember correctly, Alpha Delta Pi is 2 away from ceiling and Sigma Kappa is now at ceiling. I am fuzzy on everyone else's total numbers, though...I think Phi Sigma Sigma has 40 members now, Sigma Delta Tau is somewhere in the high 60's/low 70's, Chi Omega now has 69 members, and Delta Zeta is in the mid 70's.

Lots of numbers yesterday! I surprised I remember that much!

Out of curiosity, did this campus implement the new release figures this year?

I am not the recruitment advisor, and to be honest, I am not sure. I think they are still using the same release figures they have been using for the past few years.

Just wanted to add a little correction, Sigma Kappa took quota plus 2 (we had 2 COBs which brought us to 19). I'm pretty sure we're at ceiling right now because the girls were saying we won't be able to take a spring class.

I also heard that a lot of girls suicided, one house in particular. It sucks because one of my friends was an RC and they were all suiciding her house, and she kept trying to tell them not to, but they all said that they only wanted that one house.

Thanks for posting the rest of the results. I'm alum now so I don't really know much about the other houses except for Alpha Phi (my roommate is a senior). But we are having our Bids Day social tonight, so I have to go get ready to meet all of our new girls!
