I'm not in love with Boston itself, but I'm loving how much less it would cost to go there!

Just an FYI its actually in Danvers not Boston itself. Danvers is 30 minutes north of Boston on the way to NH, closer to Salem MA (home of the Salem Witch trials). I know they normally pick the biggest town to the hotel but just thought I'd let you all know. I figure I'll be there in some capacity. If I'm still advising for ZA or if I've moved back to good ole Bah-ston by then (fingers crossed).

YEA!!!! FINALLY a Convention in DISTICT III!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!!
Yeah, I'm excited. Beantown is about a 4-hour drive for me. Of course, there's still the matter of the Registration fees, but I'm gonna start saving NOW!

Fingers crossed I'll be able to go - maybe I can convince the local AA again to choose me as their voting delegate, and I'll offer to pick up *half* the cost - rather than trying to fundraise for the ENTIRE cost (who knows, though!)

Count me in. Assuming nothing crazy happens.
It seems every ADPi trip I've ever gone on (Conventions, VLS, DLC) my daughter gets sick before I leave. (FYI - she has cerebral palsy so even a cold can easily and quickly develop into something alot worse.) This year it was no different. She came down with strep throat. I was debating at the last minute whether I should go at all, but my Hubby told me he could handle it. Everything was fine at home, but I still ended up calling several times a day to check in.

as CPD for Zeta II which includes BU, UVM, Bishops and Western Conn as well as the Greater Boston Alumnae Association President, i can happily say we are excited to welcome everyone to the Boston area!!!!
Believe me, several of us were busy taking copious notes in Phoenix and taking everything from menus to programs off the tables for planning for '07!!!!!
For those you that may be part of other new england chapters/alumnae associations dont you worry, we'll be pulling everyone in to help with this one!!!!!

I was at Convention and saw the "revealing" slide show, however I can't remember exactly where Convention will be held (i.e. what resort or whatever). Does anyone know?

It was a Sheraton...thats all I remember...
ehope- can I make a food suggestion and just mention that the seafood meals didnt go over so well with a lot of girls. A lot of people, myself included, thought we'd have a choice when it came to meals and didnt think seafood would be served with no alternative so we didnt fill out the food restrictions. Anyways just thought I'd pass that on.

Good point on the seafood. I was fouled on the ravioli lunch because it had lobster in the sauce. That's the only food I am deathly allergic to. Since it's so expensive I never thought they'd serve lobster (even in that small quantity) to so many people. It never dawned on me to list it as a dietary restriction.

Food comments...
I'm not sure if there is much you can do about this next time, but I think there was way too much salad. I mean, we had it at every meal. Can we mix it up with different soups or maybe a fruit salad. It wasn't terrible, though, just a too-familiar course. Hey, if it is easier to go with, I'll just skip it if I so desire.
Since 2005 was my first full convention, I might have felt a bit "overwhelmed". For all I know, that is what happens at every Convention.

Hotel: Sheraton Ferncroft Resort
Food: I totally second the whole seafood thing. At first Jennie and I had heard that the ravoli (spelling issues) was going to be served for closing banquet and I was appalled that I would be spending 75 bucks for food I wouldn't eat.
I loved the steak but they gave such small portions of the meat and huge portions of the veggies (and being a non veggie eater it totally sucked for me, but I can't control things like that).
