Question Health Chips

Watching the Today Show and the FDA has given approval for these chips that can be implanted into your arm. By scanning the chips doctors/hospitals can have access to your health information. You get to choose who can access it and what information is made available. Good Idea? Bad Idea?

I can see ways that this could be abused without your knowledge. It depends on how sensitive it is and how close they have to be to scan it. Can you see going on a job interview and unknowingly going through a scanner so that they can check out your medical history to see if you'll be at work regularly or if your health insurance costs will be high? Or applying for insurance and having them scan you unknowingly to determine your rates?

I dunno...
