What are some trends in your city??

White tees : always in fashion but interesting to see 8 people on a corner with them on
Wave caps : when did it become cool to wear these outside?
Chinese Slippers bka house shoes : when did it become cool to wear these outside?

I am from NYC and from what I can tell white T-shirt and blue jeans are the new hood uniform. The kids complain that they dont want to wear a uniform to school but they all dress alike anyway.

Ugh! It's the white tees that look like nightgowns.

Ponchos! PONCHOS! PONCHOS!
Lawd if I see another Poncho!

Since I'm in the midwest the M.O. is to cop "urban fashion" 1-2 yrs. after it debuts everywhere else in the country.

Coming from NYC, the one trend I hate right now are the big belt buckles with rhinestones that young girls are wearing. If your name has more than 5 letters in it, do not and I repeat...DO NOT get it made into a belt buckle. What also bothers me with that belt buckle is (not hating on the thick sisters b/c I am thick myself) if your stomach bulges out or "pours" over your belt, DO NOT wear the rhinestone belt buckle. If your belt buckle is BIGGER than your waist, then you need to get a smaller belt buckle.

In DC, wave caps never went out of style.

The Chinese Slippers came and went last Spring.

Among men, dreadlocks are more popular now than they were five years ago.

That's all I really know....my kids wear uniforms, and when I go out, everyone looks the same as they did a few years ago, mostly.

Except, I have a sinking feeling that party shirts are going to come back in style in the next five years.
