Super Hard Dilema

I need help guys!

Here's the situation:
Background: I am going to a wedding this weekend for a friend of mine from high school whom I have known for 10 years.

I interviewed for a job with the university last night and pretty much had the best interview of my life. I got a call today and they offered me the position (and it's a great job by the way). The position pays work study, and it is the same for all work study jobs, no matter which one I get.

Here's the Prob: In order to accept the position, I, and all other employees, are required to attend a mandatory training this weekend. It will be the ONLY training and if you do not attend, you cannot work for them.

Deadline: Friday 3:29 pm (the bus for training leaves at 3:30)
Here's the question: What do I do?

-A wedding is something that only happens once and I have known this woman for a long time. The people offering me the position realize this but are not able to make an acception.
-All work study position at the university will pay the same, and I have applications in with other departments.
-The woman offering me the position actually told me that she can't imagine the job without me, and they loved me.

HELP!
