Just curious...how many turtles do you girls have?
I am too intimidated to even start counting mine, and I just joined last year!!! Good thing we have a cute mascot!

Yeah, I can't even begin to count mine- My room at home is full and half of my stuff is in storage untill I move back to school. It's amazing what you can accumulate in just one year of college. What gets me is the turtle stuff that people can find. I have a turtle shaped bulletin board, a kool-aid jug with turtles on it, a turtle bath robe, and 6 sets of turtle pjs. My grandbig spoiled me rotten, and my parents helped!
In the Flame,

I know what y'all mean! My family and friends have been giving me turtle items since I pledged in 1993. For every birthday and holiday, I know to expect SOMETHING turtle-related! You can imagine how much stuff I have after all these years!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one with a roomful of turtle paraphernalia! My favorite item is this sign my younger sister found for me when she was in Florida that says "BEWARE OF ATTACK TURTLE"!

Hey Missy! You neglected to mention the most permanent item in your turtle collection
I have a t shirt my husband bought me this spring when the University of Maryland (mascot is the terrapins, which is a kind of turtle) made the basketball Final Four. It says simply "Beware the Turtle" I thought that was pretty cool

sorry if I'm imposing on this topic but I have a little gold terrapin charm(turtle)along with a chain from when my grandfather boxed at U. of Maryland back in the 40s. An aunt(DZ) and uncle (Phi Delt) both went there also(moms side).

Actually KillarneyRose, I forgot to mention the most permanent turtle, and the most lively ones. The day after my initiation, my grandbig gave me two red-eared sliders as pets. That brought my grand total of illegal dorm room pets to a holland lop rabbit, a sugarglider, a poodle for two weeks and a duck in the bathroom.

Purpleturtle -
You did not have a DUCK in your BATHROOM!!!!
That is hilarious!!! How on earth did you manage that? My roomate had a kitten for like a month but then she got caught. But a duck? That is way too funny!!!

Okay, the duck is a long story. The founder of my school supposedly had a pet duck that was so loyal that it died a couple of days after he did, and was buried with him on campus. So the duck is kind of an unofficial mascot to us.
Anyways, Tractor Supply was selling them for like, $3. I live on a floor with about 40 rooms, shaped like an "L", and I was in the little part with 4 other rooms. I had a private room, and so did my suitemate, and our RA never came down there except for room checks, which were announced about 3 days ahead of time. My roomate was kind of suprised, though to go to take a shower and find a duck swimming in the bathtub.
It was loud as heck, though, so we had to move my stereo to the bathroom and keep the light on.
The sugar glider was a present from my then-boyfriend, the rabbit was mine from home (I live on a ranch, and the goat wouldn't fit), and I kept a very LOUD toy poodle for a couple of weeks for my chapter pres. when she went to headquarters to interview for chapter consultant. I was also the one who had all the illegal candles and halogen lamps and smoked out of my window. My RA loved me.
