Greg McNeely, of Lafayette, Ind., who was waiting to get a hand stamp at Cedar Point, said his family can't wait in long lines because their son has diabetes and needs regular snacks and two insulin shots each day

This statement right here is a load of crap!

I my self am a diabetic and require 2 shots a day. Waiting in a rollercoaster line for a ride will not interfere with one's diabetes. If the kid need snacks, he can eat them in line. He should always be carrying around some sort of candy/snack, sugar thing in case of a hypoglycermic reaction.
If it's time for his shot of insulin, he gets out of line and takes it.
That is crap and it's the parents way of justifying why they should be able to skip ahead. He doesn't have any more right to skip a head. They have just have to be prepared for emergencies and meals before they head to the park.

Well my mom is handicapped and before it got so bad that she couldn't walk at all, they would let us take the back way in to the ride and they'd put us on right away, but that was more because her wheelchair couldn't fit through the line paths.

That's a completely different situation though.

Being a diabetic does not prevent you from standing in lines.
Or maybe it does. I should try that next time I'm at an amusement park.

Oh no....people are impatient and inconsiderate enough. I would assume the ones who are still standing in those lines might make a big, physical deal out of this.

I don't mind the idea so much I guess. They do it at Great America in Illinois and you can pay extra to "jump the line" on like three or four rides of your choice. But you can only do it on each ride once so it's not like you are jumping the line on every ride all day long.

Emily, we are going to Disneyworld and demand that since we are type 1 diabetics we need to skip two hour lines.

Pa-leeze... just give the shot IN LINE. It's a whole lot healthier than in a bathroom stall. (Gross...) And who cares if you eat in line.

Yeah!

And if they don't move us up we can fake low blood sugars and say it's all their fault we had a hypoglycermic reaction because they didn't move us to the front of the line.

In fact next time I have to wait for a table in a restaurant I am going to do that, lol.

I agree the whole diabetes thing is a lame excuse. As I sit here at work, my mind begins to think, what happens when a whole bunch of people, who all have 2:15pm ride tickets show up??

So like, the park gives out 50 2:15pm tickets, what about all the people in line already?? I mean, I could probably restrain myself from physical anger, but I would probably be yelling and heading straight to guest relations once I finally got to ride the ride.

Everyone knows that when you go to a park there are going to be lines. How about we start teaching children (and parents it seems) a little patience?

Seriously... although it's probably easier said than done.

I love the plan one of the parks had to give the pagers a buzz when the ride had little or no line. That plan would never work at Disneyland. Rides like Splash Mountain and whatnot have long lines up until 7 pm! What are you gonna do in the mean time?

At Disneyland the fast pass is great and works well. You use your ticket that you got into the park with and you slide it into a machine. It tells you what time to return. It gives you a window of time. You can only fast pass one ride at a time and once the timeframe has past you can fast pass another. It works great on the very popular rides where you could end up waiting in line for 2+ hours. However on someof the rides the fast pass time was later than the wait time. Also, they only give out a certain number of fast passes in a time frame so that people in line aren't constantly getting bumped. Also just because you have a fast pass doesn't mean that you get on the ride immediately, you have to wait, but the wait is usually 15 minutes as opposed to hours.
