Thumbs up Green Tea

I don't know too much about green tea, but I've started to drink it. When I'm not feeling so well, its like shot of vitamins; a real quick pick up. I've been told that green tea is very healthy, and much better for you than black tea.

Anyone have insight or knowledge that they would like to share?

Green Tea is good. The pick up you feel is because Green Tea is chocked full of caffeine!!!

It took me a little while to get used to the taste, but now I choose it instead of other caffeine-based teas. I especially like it if it's mixed with mint or jasmine/ginseng!

Here's an article from About.com about the health benefits of green tea; http://chinesefood.about.com/library.../aa011400a.htm

One brand that is relatively inexpensive yet so, SO good is STASH!
Bigelow is pretty good, more mild than the other. Any really great brands out there? I like black tea too.

Green tea . . . beyond its health beenfits . . AND fat burning power. . . has an amino acid called L-theanine in it.

L-theanine is a mood elevator it increases dopamine while bonding to GABA receptors which produces a calm . . . the L-theanine takes the edge off the caffeine.

Lots of people take l-theanine seperately now also because of its calming effects.

I had some the other night when we went to this ritzy Chinese restaurant.

It tasted like flowers. um, not that I know what flowers taste like, but you know...

Everyone here in Korea drinks it and I still don't get it.

Errr... from what I understood, it has less or equal the caffeine of black tea, which is far less than coffee.

One thing I know is that it's supposed to help wash down all the grease and stuff in foods. That's why at most Asian restaurants, they serve the tea and people drink tons of it to more or less purge some of the grease in their system.

I get Green Tea smoothies from the Tea and Tea store in Lower Manhattan, as well as the Business Department at my school. Yum. It keeps me alert during long studio reviews.
