Jewish SK Sisters?
It must be one of those times of year when I seem to over-contemplate a lot of things. Here's the Question:
Are any of you Jewish sisters, or do you have any Jewish sister in your chapter? How did that go?
I ask because I am jewish by blood, but am non-practicing, and was brought up to look at all religions. I haven't really ever chosen one and it's something I'm starting to look into a lot more.

I don't know excatly where you are going with this, but I thought that I would put my two cents in.
My best friend is Mulism and a SK. We treat her just like any other member. She teaches us new things about her faith which are somewhat like ours, but with a better twist.
But if you are considering of searching your Jewish roots I encourage that you do it, cause maybe if you don't do it now you may never do it.
I hope that I anwsered your question. If not, I'm sorry

My chapter had several Jewish sisters, a Buddhist and a couple Hindus. Never an issue.
If you're asking what I'm thinking you're asking about, the Pledge Mom or an alumna would sit down and discuss any concerns the girl may have. Other than that, if I'm right on your line of thought, a public forum may not be the best place to discuss.

I ask because I am trying to explore my heritage, and I happen to be the only sister in my chapter with any Jewish ties. The majority of the chapter is Christian/Catholic and a mix of non-denominational women. Some of my sisters are pretty interested in learning about another religion, so it makes things a little more fun. Last year during Passover, I tried to keep Kosher and my house mom even tried to provide a menu that would help out.
I also ask just because I am not sure where my beliefs lie, and it would be nice to see if other sisters had been in/were in the same boat as I am. Like I said before, I think that I am just overthinking things because of the season.

we had three or four jewish sisters in my chapter. we started to become known as the "jewish" sorority on campus. anyhow, we did have a few issues with them when it came to ritual stuff, but nothing too big. anyhow, pm me if you have any specific ritual like questions.

My chapter had several Jewish sisters over the course of my four years. Most of them were involved with Hillel and Jewish-Greek council. We always tried to respect the holidays and traditions. Many of my sisters who weren't Jewish, myself included, would go to some of the Hillel parties and activities and always had a great time.
You should see if your campus has Hillel or some other Jewish student organization. You could spend some time with other Jewish students or talk to a local Rabbi about your feelings. I had a sister who was not Jewish but was looking into it. The Rabbi and the Hillel students were very helpful in answering her questions and making her feel welcome.
I think it's wonderful that you are looking into your Jewish roots. I hope your search leads you to a better place, spiritually.

My heart sis is jewish-- at first she felt a little weird because of some ritual things but then I introduced her to another jewish girl and i think that made her feel a lot better-- just knowing that there was someone else there for her. And in the past we've had a few jewish girls-- it never really raises any issues

Come to think of it, I don't think we had any Jewish sisters in the chapter I was a part of. I don't even think we had anyone that wasn't christian or catholic....But it was a really small chapter. I don't think it would've made a difference though.
