Thumbs down The Second Presidential debate - question …

Okay I got all snug in my lazy chair, put all my work away, turned the lights low, told my Nephew and other family members to not bug me and I was all set to watch the debate, then they pissed me off right from jump street. Maybe someone can help me figure this out …clarify if you must. Why is it that Jim Leary (I think that is his name) the moderator of the debate shook Governor Bush's hand first and called his name first and then turned to VICE PRESIDNET Al Gore and shook his hand and mentioned his name LAST? Can someone tell me what is up with that?? I may be wrong, but in terms of protocol, i.e. just as we have in AKA, and I am sure even non-members are aware of protocol, I thought the Vice President's position would be more important, higher then the Governor of Texas…can you tell me why things were done this way. I might be wrong and I may even be taking this to a level it does not need to be, but it just irked me … any comments would be appreciated. I am sure I will have more to say on this later, but I am going to try and be quite throughout the rest of the debate.

Hi all! I know I haven't been on the board for awhile, classes have me BUSY!

I just came in from class and just tuning into the debates right now. LadyAKA, if that is what happened, that is ridiculous! It is interesting what the candidates are saying, but I'll have more to say when it's over.

Peace and Blessings

Well I watched the debate in peace to the end, it was a better debate this time. My candidate, Gore, was not huffing and puffing like a little child as he did during the first debate. They very much talked about the issues this time and not just screaming at each other. Bush is a character though, first of all sorry to all those who plan to vote for him but to me 1) he seems very fake ... like when you give someone a fake smile, that seems like his everyday personality, 2)He got much to much joy in saying those men that killed James Byrd (sp.) are going to be put to death ... he was way to happy about it, he smiled ... I think he is overusing the death penalty in Texas 3) He did not answer two important questions, one was about racial profiling and the other about CHIP, the child health care issue ... he went so far off topic that I could not even remember what the moderator's original questions/comments were. And finally the moderator seemed a bit biased to me, it was not out right you had to be looking for it; but in the end the moderator made me happy by first turning to the Vice President and speaking and then turning to the governor, which I have learned last night is the correct protocol, not the other way around. Comments, questions, suggestions .........
