For those of you who are not doing too much this weekend, the Soul Train, Lady of Soul Awards will air on Saturday night on Fox (I think).

Let's see how "we" act...

I'm so mad with that Destiny's Child business... that whole situation is scandalous... but I'm not going to get into that because it was discussed in another thread.

I hope the Lady of Soul awards would be positive, but do any of you think that Toni Braxton and Halle Berry deserve a tribute?

I wouldn't mind seeing Toni get a tribute. I like Toni, I have all 3 of her CDs and I think she's a fabulous singer. Halle on the other hand...I don't know. She's cool, but b/t the two, I'd pick Toni. There's something about Halle that I don't really like. I just can't put my finger on it. She aight though What kind of tribute would these ladies get? They seem kinda young to be getting a tribute though. Usually the peeps that have been in the business longer get the tributes. I guess it's whatever floats their boats!

ZChi, I agree with you... I think the both of them are a little too young in their career to get a tribute... Toni maybe, but there is something about Halle that makes me think that she doesn't deserve a tribute... I can't put my finger on it.

ok, Here is my commentary for the Lady of Soul Awards:

Suspect....I mean SISQO needs to go back to Baltimore and GO TO SCHOOL!!!! . I was very upset that he was flubbing lines and on top of that the worse flub of all is messing up the name of one of my favorite artist, RACHELLE FERRELL...ITS NOT MICHELLE YOU BOOB!!! All those who don't about Rachelle, you betta' ask somebody!!!

I never liked the idea of Shemar Moore being the host of Soul Train and his performance tonight just clinched it for me. Why oh why did he put his foot in his mouth after Yolanda Adams RIPPED IT, by saying, "now we don't have to go to church tomorrow!" ARRRRGGGHHHH.

Pink....why bother?

Mary ripped it. I'm sorry y'all I love Mary especially now. She is an example of what change and positive thinking can do for you.

Although Toni Braxton is accomplished, I don't think she deserved that award. I am inclined to feel that someone who is older in the business should receive such an accolade. I kind of thought that Mariah could have gotten it simply because she has actively and visibly done things in the community. I never really 'felt' Toni, it is something about her that makes me go eek. Halle needs to work on her craft more. I also like her as an actress but she needs to be more seasoned.

Beyonce' and Destiny's Child...ha what a joke! Notice how in the beginning of the program there were four and they ended up with 3 right before our eyes .

Overall the show was adequate, much better than the Source Fiasco...see we do know how to act...lol . Well, that's my take on it. Ciao!!!!

Wait, I missed the awards (I was out partying w/ the freshmen ). What happened w/ Destiny's Child? I told ya'll...3 or 4..4 or 3. They are too much! They are so talented but Beyonce is trip-ping! She needs to bring it down a few notches, ya heard!
And Pink was on there? Interesting. I like her but, uh...well I'll leeave that alone. And Shemar was hosting? Dammit! I LOVE that man! Woo! Ok. I'm calm But yeah, someone fill me in on all the details!

p.s. Darling1, I'm w/ you on Rachelle Ferrell. That girl is DA BOMB. I haven't been keeping up w/ her. Where has she been and does she have a new CD out? I've been outta the loop w/ her.

Dang...Sadie Mae is coming out with something...IT'S ABOUT TIME!

RACHELLE HAS A NEW SONG OUT NOW. I saw her live a couple of years ago and she said she was going through contract/record company issues...It's good to see she is back. She and Will Downing need to do an entire album together!

Destiny's Child...why was the new girl wearing a totally different color than the other three? The crowd's reception of them, to me was lukewarm...Then Beyonce' wants to get all teary eyed...and Miss Kelly had to kiss her hand! What was that?!!!

Mary and Yolanda are my girls...As usual, Yolanda will have erebody on their feet!
I think I will have to get that Mary Mary CD...they have it going on, too!

Mary really has come into a woman of her own...I would have rathered Mary getting the entertainer of the year award instead of Toni.

I did not understand why Pink was a host. Her performance was tight, but I have not ever seen her videos or songs on BET or black radio, only the Box...

R. Kelly was civilized. I really like that song...but all of his hair could have been braided...

Why wasn't Kelly Price nominated...she should be up there next year!

I would also like to comment on Halle Berry. I like her, too, but I'm just so tired of her talking about being a victim. Since she and David Justice broke up, every interview I read was such a pity story. I think by now everyone knows all about her abusive past relationships. Everyone knows she considered suicide. I wish she would just get over it already and focus on being a survivor. Maybe she thinks that she is helping other women in similar situations or something, but she makes me think she still needs some professional help to deal with it all.

I was wondering about that too. I don't know what to think about it. I mean, that was terrible of her to leave the scene like that. I understand if she was nervous/scared about what happened or whatever. But still, you don't do stuff like that. I mean, it got her in even MORE trouble than just hitting the woman and staying at the scene. It's an interesting situation to say the least. I just want to know what the heck she was thinking about by leaving the scene! I think I read something or maybe saw on tv that she did go to the hospital a while after to see if the woman was ok or something. I'm not sure if that's true or not though. Did anyone else hear that?

I thought they had been treated at the same hospital. The victim was on Entertainment Tonight after the accident. I thought she said she had not heard from Halle...

I wonder where Eric Benet was? Isn't he shooting a movie or something? Maybe that's why he was absent...
