Poll: GC Vegetarians
How long have you been a vegetarian?
What made you decide to become one?

I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm fasting from meat for 30 days. This is day number 15 and it's been challenging! The fast is for spiritual growth and other personal things that I want to Lord to work out for me. If anyone is vegetarian, KUDOS to them! There are a lot of alternatives, but there's nothing like meat!

I have been a vegetarian since about 96'
I got really tired of meat and the thought of it made me sick to my stomach. I eat a whole lot of soy protein. Plus - I have a lower chance of having high cholesterol and getting cancer.

Ive been a vegetarian for 6 months and was one for 2 years b4 I went to college.
The first time i became a vegetarian it was because I gave up meat for lenten and I didn't start back eating it when it was over. But when I went to college all they served was meat and few vegetables, so my only options were salad bar and garden burgers so their I started eating fish and some poultry. Now that I'm out of college I'm back on the vegetarian plan and I feel less sluggish and am losing weight.

I was a vegetarian for six years, now I only eat fish and chicken.
I became vegetarian as a natural method to control my allergies. All of my medicines were anti-histamines and histamine blockers, but whenever I ate meat I just put that animal's histamines back into my body. It really worked.
Now, that I am older and pretty much outgrown my asthma so the symptoms of having allergies are not so dangerous I eat the white meats. I still will have no parts of the cow or the pig.....GROOOOOOOOOOOOSSSS!

i've been a vegetarian for 10 years. w/in the last 6 months or so, i've started eating fish again, cause my "diet" is horrible and i wasn't getting enough good fat in me.
i didn't become a veggie for any particular reason, just wanted to try something new and see how long i could do it. as it stands, i'm still doing it.
