				wayyyyy off base or not?

the pledges were convicts (live in a 1/2-way house)
I wonder how some people get their notions about Greek life.

hmmmmmmm.

Is this a new episode about pledging? I haven't watched The Parkers since I was in high school. I remember there being a pledging episode a few years ago where Kim and Nikki were "on-line" for AAA. If I'm not mistaken, they had to steal a pair of Professor Ogilvie's underwear. Is this the same one that you're talking about?
**Sidebar: Are The Parkers still at Santa Monica Community College? If so, what is going on? It only takes two years to get an associate's degree. Have CCs started offering Bachelor's, Master's, or advanced degrees? If they haven't, then Kim and Nikki need to get on the ball and get up outta there.**

i was actually watching this with two of my line sisters and i said, "where do the writer's get their ideas about greeks, black or white, and pledging?" maybe i'm over-analyzing, but why would home chick bring some "pledgees" she doesn't want in her "sisterhood" just to spite kim and six (i can't remember that girl's character's name). why were the ques taking a line in community college? why did the "pledge process" last long enough for them girls to get their hair done and learn the greek alphabet (and they were saying it mighty slow...). and, all they had to do was learn the alphabet and then be recommended as "sisters?" this show was WACK!

 * on another note: kim's dumbness really irritates me. why can't she be ghetto and funny like she used to be on moesha? i haven't been able to watch t.v. like i used to (been working so hard for DELTA), and i see that i'm not missing any thing. *

Yes they are in community college still working on their "super associate's degree"
Yes Classy this was a brand new ep with the men of OPP stomping in the student center. First I just thought that it was a fictional frat using the fatigues but alas I saw the OPP sign with Purple and Gold.

The executive producer is Sara Finney, a Delta. I need soror to do better.

Six = Stevie on the Parkers.

i know i hate the show but I have to keep watching it just to see Who Da hayle left the gate open?

				Santa Monica College

I read an interview with Monique where she was asked why the characters were still at a Jr. college. She stated that Santa Monica Jr. College was changed to Santa Monica College where her and Kim were pursuing BS degrees. From the Promo's on the UPN website, they are both supposed to be in there final year at Santa Monica College since it is their 4th season. http://www.upn.com/shows/parkers/about.shtml

				 Never been a fan

The Parkers just is way too broad and stereotypical for me. The times when I've watched it, it makes me uncomfortable.
The only consolation, as it were, is that Girlfriends, which provides a positive blend of images, IMO, is on the same network.

 | Umm highly unlikely since they have no MAJORS. Plus they were still calling it SMC Jr. College at the beginning of the season when the Professor was fired.

Not knocking you HOPEFUL just the ludicrousness of the show.

Last night's episode is one of the reasons why I won't be too upset when the show goes off the air. I'm not a member of a sorority and the ep even had me cringing. That whole ep. just did not sit well with me at all.

BTW - If Kim keeps getting dumber and dumber each season, how come she's still a student at Santa Monica????

Ok, then it's not just me, but I was saying the same thing, OPP has a chapter at a CC. I saw the same thing week after week, after week. How long does it take to graduate from a Jr college?
Even though I am not greek, I wasn't understanding why they would have ex-cons joining a sorority. I was thinking that it had to be much deep that what I had knowledge of being on the outside of greekdom.

				 never liked the parkers

I can't stand this show...I hated the way Nikki pursued the professor, she seemed so desperate. It was alright for the first few episodes but after awhile I was like "He don't want you, girl. Stop it!"
And I thought Kim wasn't all that bright either.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand that show.

				Wack Show

What about the way the "pledges" were talking to their "big sisters" in the beginning of the show...I thought, "No way in hell would that EVER happen!" I don't care what BGLO you're pledging, you would never be able to talk to a Big Sister or Big Brother like that. Soooo unrealistic!!

Now, I HOPE no one was expecting that show to be anything more than entertainment.
I mean, what college people you know live in an apartment that nice and dress that well while going to college full-time
I liked the show for the first couple of seasons, although I do agree that the whole Nikki sweating the Professor thing...... ...umm, can we get a NEW storyline, please!!
Ok, not to change the subject, but does anyone watch "Half & Half"? So far, I like it! Why didn't I know that the girl with the natural hair is actually 35 years old! She does not look her age, let me tell ya!
