Thumbs up GRITS and other Southern Food

Ok, I see the subject of grits has gotten some attention over on the "GreekChatters say the darnest things" thread but I have a specific question so I'm starting my own thread just for it...so there

Grits...I eat them with butter, sugar and milk. I love 'em this way, however I was born and raised in Pennsylvania so what do I really know? Am I doing the grits thing completely wrong???

If so, someone tell me once and for all how the heck I'm SUPPOSED to be eating them?

Oh, and another southern food question...what is hash made out of?

Thanks!
