Cool Hey Hey Hockeytown!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to find the Wings fans on the board and extend the party. Now they are 3rd in the NHL for number of cups won (10), Bowman is the leader for coaches who've won cups (9) as well as the oldest coach to win one. It was great to see Vlady and Mnastakonov (sp) out there too. June 13, 1997 was the day of their accident. I'm also excited that Yzerman will be back next year!

Yeah for the Wings!

I'm so happy that the cup will be back in Hockeytown! Last nights game was GREAT, and there will be a few new additions to the list of names on the cup that well deserve it!

Go Wings!!

My husband is anti-wings so when they scored their second goal last night I called him at work to rub it in

If Lord Stanley's Cup can't reside in Pittsburgh this year, Detroit is the next best place

Congratulations to the Wings and all their great fans!!!

Where do you work at in the Ren Cen? Sometimes I come with my husband on business trips because my family and friends live in Michigan. I usually hang out at the Ren Cen and do nothing until he gets done with his meetings...boring.

AOX,

Have someone tell you how to get to Greektown.

As for this athletic contest -- hockey was it? We moved from Detroit to Denver 20 years ago. My wife's youngest sister lives in Detroit.

It's not pretty.

I told sis-in-law that I'd be a good sport when the Lions win the Superbowl.

Actually I'm pretty familiar with Detroit so I know how to get to Greektown. Even though I live in Ohio now I'm still a huge Tigers fan.

I don't think the entire state of Michigan would know what to do if the Lions ever made it to the Superbowl

Detroit has a lot of stuff to do but I would never want to live there!

Detroit folks,

Out of curiousity, is the Lindell AC still open? When I worked at WJBK-TV in the late 70's early 80's, Sonny Elliot, Joe Glover, Robbie Timmons, Jim Branstetter, Ray Lane and some other folks used to go down there after the 11:00 PM News. Jimmy and Johnny Butsakaris (sp?) were the owners. I'm sure they're either retired or dead by now.

Also, O'Halloran's Tipperary Pub on Southfield and about Eight Mile. Is it still there? Great Irish/Cop bar. I still have a "Tipp" jacket they gave me on my last night in town. I still wear it on St. Pats day.

Hey!!!!!! I was so a bandwagon fan this year, but only cuz I was never around a TV to watch the regular season games. Next year I PROMISE that I'll watch the games. Anyway, I missed the parade cuz I had to work today, but I'm sittin here, with my Wings jersey on. Scotty Bowman is so adorable. Does anyone else think that the Red Wings have not only the best players but the cutest? Anyway, Lord Stanley is back where he shoulda been all along. Anyone here the Stanley Cup version of Without Me? Quite impressive.....

Hey Hey Hockeytown!

So obviously I'm not at the rally right now since I was out of work for two hours before they got to Hart Plaza but it was a blast! Everyone is being very well behaved and stuff. Plus I got Drew &Mike's autographs and they kept asking other guys to tell my friends and I that we are cute!

Karen, I wish I had been standing near you! I went to the rally and I had the most miserable, awful time! I had been there since 9am and Hart Plaza was already full at that point...however, everyone on the parade route ran over to the Plaza after the cars passed. People were pushing and shoving their way through, disreguarding the fact that the people in the Plaza had been there all morning to get their spots, and not even saying excuse me. Then people were standing on coolers and hoisting their girlfriends on their shoulders...I understand kids, but adults can stand! I expected the crowds, I just didn't expect the rudeness! You would think people would try to celebrate in harmony and respect each other. After standing around all morning (in the pouring rain), I was blocked from seeing anything, even the screen.

If the Wings win again in the near future, I will either camp out at 5am so I can be smack in front or watch the coverage from the comfort of my own home!
