TEXAS TECH RUSH

Okay, so I already had a post talking about how I am rushing as a sophomore and was able to look up and find information on that. However, during that, I found many post talking about the signing up for rush and all the things you need in order to do that. Many of them said all different kinds of things such as all the things you need to include. I just wanted to know if there is anyone that has personally gone through rush at Texas Tech that can explain to me all the things that are required for you to include.

Past Texas Tech thread

Call the office of Greek Life at your university to learn about requirements and how to sign up. Advice you receive on this website is to be taken at your own risk.

Texas Tech recruitment is almost (if not as) competitive as an SEC recruitment. Ditto what adpiucf said and read her links. Here's some advice I'd give anyone regardless of age, year in school, etc.

1. Registration for Fall 2013 Formal Recruitment will open May 21st
2. Get recs for EVERY group. Contact the Alumnae Panhellenic in your home town if you need help with recs.
3. Clean up your social media....NOW
4. Potential New Members MUST register with the Texas Tech Panhellenic Council even if you register with a local Alumnae Panhellenic Association
5. Keep an open mind

Obviously this is an old post, but if anyone happens to stumble upon it looking for advice you should definitely check out my blog. I'm in a sorority at Texas Tech and I have tons of advice over recruitment and Greek life! I also joined my chapter as an upper classmen, so while the process is competitive, there are still plenty of sophomores and juniors who will get bids

I haven't read every word of her blog, but I like what I have read. Yes, she has a young person's casual way of "speaking" and her grammar isn't perfect, but the author is saying a lot of what is said on this board in a way that other young women might be able to relate to.

"Recruitment isn't a process that is designed to tear you down and make you feel bad about yourself. It's supposed to be a fun and exciting time of your life. It's the journey to meeting your sisters, finding your home, and uncovering this thing that will become a massive part of your life in the years to come. Just keep your chin up. Even if 10 out of 11 houses cut you, you only need one. That one house could love you to pieces and want you no matter what. As long as you make one connection with one house, the rest that cut you don't really matter. "

I like her perspective.

I think what is annoying most people is that she keeps posting her blog into every forum she can. It's like a spammer. She wanted to appear helpful but, she seems obnoxious.
