Meteor showers

Is anyone planning on watching the Leonid meteor showers tonight? They're starting at midnight, with the peak time around 5 a.m. They say that this will be the best shower until 2099. I want to watch, so if anyone in Bloomington wants some company, let me know.

We're supposed to go out to the boonies tonight to watch after hitting the bars, but it's really foggy here right now. I hope it clears up so we can see something!

Saw it!

My husband and I got up at 4am (me, the anti-morning person!) and went out into our yard, lay down, and watched until 5:45 or so. It was sooo cold - 25 degrees or so - but it was worth it for the show! We probably saw about 10-15 a minute at one point. I'm so glad it was a clear night where we were.

So last night a few girls from our chapter sorta had a sister retreat during the meteor shower. About 8 of us camped out on the sidewalk outside our house. It was soooo cold. But way fun. We had like 6 blankets piled on all of us. The fraternity next to us had initiation last night so when they came out of their house this morning we were still there.. but we all went and got breakfast. It was definately a good bonding night for us sisters. But the meteor shower was beautiful. Anyways, I thought I would tell you my little story about the meteor shower night.

My boyfriend and I laid in the front yard with his roommate, next door neighbor and the NDN's girlfriend, drinking mimosas and watching the shower. We got up at 4:30 and stayed out for a little over an hour. Not as big as I expected it to be, but it was still definitely worth the early wake-up call.

Props to all of you who got up early...I just stayed up until 5 AM. It was soooo damn cold, we ended up watching through the sunroof window, but it was still awesome. Thank God for heat in the car eh??

it was great!

My boyfriend and I got up at 4 a.m. and drove to the beach to watch the shower. It was great! But we kind of froze b/c it was so windy, so we only stayed about 45 minutes. But definately worth it though.
