PHC & MGA
On Our Campus We Are The Only MGC And In Order To Participate In Formal Recruitment We Have To Be Part Of The Panhellenic Council. Because Of "New Management" And Our Greek Advisor No Longer Being MGC, We Are Looking Into Leaving The Council. Does Anyone Know How We Would Go About Looking Into A City Wide MGA?

If you don't recruit in the same manner as the NPC groups, why would you want to be on Panhellenic Council to begin with, unless the school is forcing you to do so to be recognized?

^^ Sounds like they used to at least partially participate in the recruitment or however the situation went down, it's not working anymore.
But Then It's Hard To Tell.

This situation seems odd. Is associate membership on the Panhellenic Council not an option?

The NPC recruitment model doesn't seem like it'd fit DXN.
Why are you all trying to participate in formal recruitment?

Well It Has Worked In Our Favor Having A Members of MGC As Our Greek Advisors But Next Semester When The New Management Comes In, We Wont Be Able To Do Things Like We Have Done Them,
Basically We Participate In Formal Because We Are Able To Participate In Greek Week and All the Greek Activities On Campus, And We Are Recognized As A Greek Organization, Like We Should Be But If We Go MGA We Would Not Be Able To Participate && All That....

What Is With The Capital Letters??? Please Tell Us, We Are On Pins And Needles.
Are you the same size as the other fraternities and sororities? Our NPHC groups never participated in Greek Week, not because we didn't want them to, but because they were so much smaller.

I'm not sure what new management can do to "shake up" an already established MGC. How do you know that you won't be able to do the same things you have done?
Also, I don't think recruitment has anything to do with Greek Week, etc. If that was the case, then only the NPC sororities would able to participate in Greek activities.

For certain things on our campus, we were allowed to pair up with more than one org, so that smaller orgs could participate. One year, we did our float with a fraternity AND a non-PHC sorority. Maybe that could be an option.

Although I can't follow that logic about MGC vs PHC (??), I am curious about her original question. Is there such a thing as a city-wide or other geography-based MGC council that her group could investigate?

I've never heard of that happening before. I also don't know how, if membership in PHC is required to participate in Greek events, joining a different type of council will solve her dilemma.
