The Importance of the Yellow Rose? Alpha Phi Apha

Hi, I am an interest of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. And have begun to talk to members of my college’s chapter expressing interest. Before doing that I had/am researching as much as I can about Alpha Phi Alpha from books, and the internet alike. However, as I came across the yellow rose as the fraternal flower, I was/am unable to find out any information concerning why the yellow rose was chosen.
And believe me when I say I have looked. I searched through at least 200 websites from different chapters, national websites etc. And a few books, but this particular piece of information eludes me at the moment, which is why I decided to post this topic here. I would be ever so grateful if you could direct me to a website, book or even explain to me the significance and importance of the Yellow rose from a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
