Terrorist attack in Mumbai/Bombay India
Has anyone been following the events there? I walked into my Gym this afternoon and just about every screen was on a news channel.
Best thoughts and wishes to all there and family and friends.

My b/f was in India last summer, and spent some time in Mumbai. It's very sad to hear all about these events. Only wishing for the best over there on the other side of the world.....

This is HUGE. Anyone that knows me knows I will be posted to CNN all day tomorrow. It will definitely be interesting to see the information coming out in the next couple of days to sort it all out.
I'm so sad for the families that will be affected by this (worldwide), but it's events like this that make me wish I was still working with the Global Terrorism Database. It's only by understanding what's going on here that attacks like this can be prevented in the future.

I was just talking with my b/f and he was saying that the hotel that this all happened at was right beside the hotel he stayed at when he was there last summer. Just so scary knowing that he has been to the area before and how horrible it is for this to happen there. Its always scary when something happens to a place you've been before.

Most of the reports I have heard so far mention US and British citizens as those who are/were singled out.
I heard a report, that I did check out on-line, that the Mumbai headquarters of the Chabad Lubavitch was also attacked and seized. Gun shots were heard from within the building. The Rabbi and his family are among the approximately 20 Israeli nationals missing and a report indicates that they may have been abducted.

Hopefully those responsible will be brought to swift and fatal justice.

I've spent the last 48 hours watching my beloved city of Bombay (it's not home any more, but I've got family and lots of friends there) being ripped apart by these bastards. I've lost family in the line of duty. Slowly but surely the number of people in my extended network that have been affected is bound to rise. It's heart breaking and horrific and unreal.
If you could all keep Mumbai, it's citizens, the victims, and their families (with a special request for my own - my uncle leaves behind a wife and two small boys), I would be deeply grateful.

I've spoken to some Indian friends here in the US, and American friends in India, and the situation is terrible. Completely scary, and I'm especially worried for my Jewish friends, who report that Jews specifically are being targeted.

It's been confirmed that the rabbi and his wife were killed, although an employee who escaped from inside did rescue their infant son.
There have also been confirmed that two Americans were also killed.
May their memories be blessed.
