It's time to DO SOMETHING!

What are you/your chapter/ your organization doing or done to help in the relief efforts for the victims in NY and DC?

Please share your experiences here:

1. I've given locally to the firefighter's association which will send the donations to the firefighters in New York.

2. At my place of employment, I have coordinated efforts to raise money for the American Red Cross, by seeking donations from our administrators, faculty, staff, and student body on Sept. 24th and Sept. 25th. via the group I sponsor.

3. In my chapter, we have donated money to the American Red Cross, as well as, many Sorors donating blood.

4. Check our website for information regarding donating for the relief efforts. Soror Norma has a letter on the site. You may use aka1908.com or akak1908.org. (I don't think the site is ready yet) SORORS, if you do any donations, please send your information to the appropriate Soror. See the site for details.

If you all haven't done anything yet, have you all made any plans to do SOMETHING, greeks and non-greeks!

My husband and I have made a donation to the Red Cross. Grocery stores have also set up drop-boxes in their stores for customers to purchase items to be sent to New York. We went shopping Friday and did that. Thes are just a few of the items they are asking for in my area:

bottled water
ready to eat meals
high protein bars
snack bars
juice drinks
asprin/Tylenol
ace bandages
saline solution
alcohol swabs
dog food
handi-wipes
can openers
sunscreen
