I will never understand why people check message boards and social networking sites like facebook on their phone or hand-held device?

Is it ever that serious?

So reading greekchat on your phone is cool now? Am I supposed to say "Oh it's OK that you posted the same thing we've been reading for 8 pages because you were reading greekchat on your phone. All is forgiven."

No. Just read the damned thread.

Eh...reading threads isn't the end-all-be-all. Redundancy keeps threads alive.

I don't think it's a matter of being "serious" but if you work say retail, it's hard to get to a computer.

It's never that serious, but it gives me something to do when I'm riding the bus or waiting at the doctor's office. I read, mostly. It's hard to type paragraphs of stuff on my PDA.

B/c I was sitting in a parking lot, in my car, waiting for someone and I was bored. Yes, it is serious. Buy a smart phone and you will see how easy it is. You are sitting at you house checking a social site...you have all kinds of better shit to do there, so why wouldnt you check it when you are bored in your car?

I'm not looking for your forgiveness. Like I said, if it is redundant and you don't want to talk about it again, click another thread... Pretty simple. You don't have to reply to every comment that someone makes on this site. There are new people with new perspectives, and maybe they want to start that conversation back up. Damn....
