What's your biggest annoyance?

i dont hold back the fact i detest music like that and the enviorment it brings along. Yeah they are blasting their music loud...i hope loud enough someone calls the cops over there soon.

I'm saying the fact that you dislike that kind of music is irrelevant to them playing it loud. That be the case, so you're saying if it was country music being played loud you wouldn't be as pissed as you are now?

I'm white. I don't like country. I listen to mostly rap and R&B......

however I would be highly annoyed if my 3 year old niece was staying the night and someone was blaring that type of music at all hours of the night.

Country= soothing (at least some of it)
Rap= bring on the bass= vibrating the neighborhood if it's loud enough.

My annoyance? When my (white) neighbor a few houses down decides he wants to listen to his music really loud so he blares his rap loud and clear on his customized system. The bass rattles my large house. And this type of behavior is NOT acceptable in my higher-middle class ethnic neighborhood.

I just dont like the music... But each to their own.

I am just annoyed by loud rattling bass music playing still at 11:05 pm


Listen to whatever you want...i dont care i dont like the kind of music....but my beef is the fact it is glaring , my house is vibrating, and my son cant sleep or is having problmes sleeping because of it .... all because no one has respect for fellow nieghbors

LOL! I LOVE music...country, rap, r&b, folk, (wait, I don't like techno, but that's about it!) and I have to say that there would be no difference, with respect to disturbance, between country music and rap music being played at the same decibel level, unless you disliked one.

I wasn't asking whether you liked the music or not, I was pointing out the fact that you mentioning what type of music they were playing was irrelevant to them DTP'ing. From the way you said it, it was giving me the impression that you just didn't like the music that they was playing, and not the fact that it was loud and disturbing your sleep. And that also gave me the impression that if these people were playing other types of music, you wouldn't have been so disturbed.

Not typically true. Rap, Hip Hop, Techno usually have digital "beats" that have synthetic bass lines. These bass lines are made to be reproduced by subwoofers that play in a range of usually around 30-300Hz or so. That happens to carry through walls a lot better than higher frequencies.

That's why when someone pulls up next to you with their stereo blasting you can only really hear the "thumping" part. Country, rock, etc. don't usually have synthetic bass lines (but it's not unheard of).

Well, loud music in the middle of the night, any type, would annoy me. However, Country doesn't have the bass like rap does. See Kt's post about the beats and stuff.

If it makes it any less "racist-worthy", I'd rather hear rap blaring than heavy metal. Happy now?
