No Magical Answers

Excuse me as I say WTF.....kddani........There is no roommate answer with this one....Nice try though......I can only offer you this as proof, because I did have class last night and my professor .......said if you would like to ask her about the 'visiting program' b/w Depaul and University of Houston you can.....she said I could give her name and number out to all who would like to talk about this....I explained that people that I talked to on a some what infrequent basis did not believe me when I said I was doing a visiting student study program. Oh, and by the way....Law Schools/College of Law/Law Center do this just like all other schools. To prove this too you I would like you to go to University of Houston website (downtown, not the main campus), go to apps and look for the visting student application.....at Depaul I know you can do this as well, becuase when I was doing my undergrad work I took classes at Depaul before I transfered there, that is acutally how i decided on which type of schools to apply to when it came to picking a law school.

In other questions you would like to ask me you can pm me and do it.

I fly home tonight for a family gathering and will have infrequent access to email until I get back....

You can't start class at one school, go and take the class (who says they even have them?) at another school then go back to the original school and take the final. Profs have entirely different cirriculums and styles and what you learn.

Again, show me proof of ANY school that does this?

Why are you bullsh!ting people who ARE in law school and who DO know about this sort of thing?
I disagree - our good friend went to CUNY Law for 1st and 3rd year, he studied as a visiting student at FSU-Law for year 2. This is actually quite common, as I've found out. Unfortunately, FSU messed up his credit hours and he ended up having to stay at CUNY for a semester longer than anticipated, but it doesn't matter - he passed the FL bar with flying colors, did a stint in the PD's office and is now in private practice. He is also an R.N. and a certified Microsoft guy. And a pilot. We fear he has ADD, LOL.

My husband's cousin was a NY Law and had gotten invited to do year 2 at some Ivy League school (forget which one) and turned it down because she didn't want to be separated from her DH. Turns out she should have gone since they divorced shortly after she graduated (summa cum laude, I might add).

PenguinTrax- the situation you talk about is different- in that case the person was doing an entire year.

She is only doing PART of a semester. heck, i don't even think you can do part of a semester during undergrad like that

Again mshoole, provide me with a website link to something at ANY law school that says you can go to another one, 1000 miles a way at least, for just PART of a semester. Hell, i'd be interested in seeing it just for a undergraduate school. A semester or a year, yes, but for PART of a semester?

I find it hilarious that you would discuss this with a professor...

Sure you'll give me the prof's name and number... it would probably just be your number

Plus the professors don't really have much of a role in this sort of thing... it's the admissions offices and the deans.

I don't see a visiting student application on the applications web site. That's not to say it doesn't exist somewhere, but it's not where you said it would be.

Mshoole, I'm not trying to flame you or anything, but since you've been posting on GC you've said many things that don't make sense. First there was the odd thread in the Tri Sigma forum, where you posted that you're 25 and trying to become a Tri Sigma, but then after some drama with your "roommate" who came on and posted as you, somehow that process came to an end -- even though just days after "giving up" on Tri Sigma, you posted that you received a bid.

Then in the AI age thread you posted that you're 22, so somehow between February of this year and now, you've become three years younger, which is really miraculous.

Your employment history is also interesting, and it's amazing you have time to pursue alumnae initiation at all. You've posted that you work for Cold Stone Creamery, and are a substitute teacher. You're also working for a paramedic/firefighting group chasing tornadoes. On top of all this, you were taking a criminal justice class, and at some point were also getting a master's degree and looking to pursue AI in California. Now, you're in Chicago attending DePaul University's law school and are also in Houston attending the University of Houston's law school through a "sister schools" program that nobody has ever heard of and that isn't mentioned on DePaul's website, because you're also traveling on business -- is this teaching, tornado chasing or Cold Stone Creamery business? Oh, and let's not forget that you're engaged even though nobody proposed.

Seriously, I'm not trying to tear you apart at all, but this hasn't been sitting right with me for a long time and I think that many of us don't think it makes any sense.

ETA: The University of Houston downtown doesn't have a law school.

Yes, multiple usernames that all seem to contradict one another and talk to each other. Legacy9782 or Sigma@Heart, anyone? They've somehow come up having the same IP address as you. I suppose this is your roommate, too.

They could start their own chapter of Mu Pi, the sorority for multiple personalities.

This could be cleared up really quick if someone from ASA could confirm her pursuit. Does anyone know someone who was involved? Alum chapter? Anyone handling paperwork? Nat'l office at any level?

If so, these questions and doubts would die on the spot.

Post Anything Else?

Okay lets start from the beginning.

Where does it say at all that I am those other names? Please explain that to me. Also, you must have some of an idea on how ip adresses work. I know that if you are on a server people will have the same ip address, and I can honestly say yes I do who legacy9782 is.

For teh work employment issue, is it difficult to believe that someone acutally can work more than one job? Can quit more than one job and then decide to go back to school?

Also, Yes, I was going to go to California but if you have read anythign about me you will understand that I am no longer engaged. Things did not work out.

Chasing Tornadoes is a past-time hobbie that only takes place during Tornado season. Wait Tornadoes dont happen year round do they??? OR did I make that up as well.

I believe I have admitted guilt in letting someone else use my name. I do not understand how I can continue to be punished for a wrong doing, that i will announce once again so everyone who reads this understands I ADMIT THAT I WAS WRONG FOR LETTING SOMEONE USE MY NAME...I AM VERY SORRY AND PROMISE NOT TO DO THAT AGAIN! . Does that satisfy that?

Okay now on to the school issue. I Apologize the word that I was looking for that I kept using Visting for is Transient. IF you would like to look at thier website it is www.uh.edu/ Then I hope you can figure from their how to find the requirments for "visiting/Transient" student.

In the state of Illinois to be a sub in the school district you must have a subbing certificate and a bachelors degree. I dont see how that is confusing. You can even look that up on the states website, if you do not trust me on that.

Why would I need to join another "sorority" when I have been given my date and time with another chapter?

By the way, please let me explain about work. There is this thing called Business Trips, which means I have to travel. I just happen to be in Houston Texas for work, I decided that since I have to here longer than a week, why not continue my education (but I had already been accepted) to Depaul (I really wanted to go there), so I talked to a dean with Depaul and a Dean with UH and went from there.

Next, lets get this straight. Every school will call things different. Some can call it Law School, some can call it College of Law, some call it the "Law Center" Some call it the school of Justice. Either way if they are ABA approved then it does not matter what you will call them.

I have taken many criminal justice classes through-out my college experience what does that have to do with me and ASA.

Is there anyone else who has been reading these posts that wants to bring something else up. Oh and kddani here is your website that explains about being a visiting law school student and taking classes. And one more thing, I never said that I was leaving in the middle of a semester please show me where I said that, and I will apologize. But, if you assumed something then you need to understand that when you assume you have the opportunity to make an a__ of yourself.

TO: kddani

What criteria must be met to be considered a transfer or visiting student?

Normally, after the completion of the first-year of law school or 30 semester hours, a student can be considered for transfer. If a transfer student is currently in classes, we cannot make a decision on transferability until we receive a transcript with all classes and grades indicated. Most times decisions on transfer students are not made until summer for admission in the fall. Mid-year transfer is a possibility, but applicants should consult the Office of Admission & Financial Aid about their options. Transferability of credits is evaluated after admission has been determined by the College of Law.

A visiting student is requesting to take courses at our institution, but intends to apply those credits to the law degree they are earning at another law school.

Thank you

The ASA's are probably working on it

Also, most of the questions don't even have anything to do with her AI status, she's just made up stories about everything and keeps getting caught.

I apologize to those who have read my posts and see the mis-spellings, I will go back and "edit" my posts, for those who are so critical of that.

The great thing about schools (especially, law schools) most schools have this policy that is called a "visiting student" application, so that students "like me" can go to school finish thier degree while making a life for them.

Thank you 33girl, for clearing that up. Acutally you can be a full-time evenign student becuase I take my classes at night 12 semester hours in all, I start at 330 in the afternoon and I go to 10 pm most nights.
Note the above, this is the post in which you say ".No I am not doing the entire semester in Houston just till I get back to Chicago...."

You said you are NOT doing the entire semester.

I'm not going to surf the whole UH website. Right when you first started this saying you're going there part time, I checked, no where on the law school website have I seen anything about visiting/transfer (transient???? are you a vagrant?) students for only PART of the semester. So I have checked, and don't believe you. Again, show me proof.

Again, explain to me how the hell this works with finals, etc.

One thing for you though, you'd a good storyteller

ETA: your link doesn't work (http://law.uh.edu/go.transfer_or_visiting) and even if it did it wouldn't be relevant. I directly asked you if you were there for the whole semester or not and you said NO!

And, I said that if I was found wrong then I would apologize...But just to help you out with something. I apologize when I answered that question I didnt read it I just said no. Now that I have gone back you will see, that I have changed it, put a note in there saying that I am talking about the year not the semester.) Hope this clears up some misunderstanding.

You asked me to show you proof. I did. If you choose not to see it for yourself, then to each is his own. Also, I am what they consider a Transient: (a person who is passing or stopping by for a short period of time, just in case you needed a definition). No I am not vagrant. Clever and cute, BUT NO.

Anyway, kddani I wish you the best of luck this weekend and I hope to be able to talk to you on better grounds next week, but for me I am out of here, I have to get going, I am goign back home for the weekend.
