Well it looks like Lilly Pulitzer is definitely a big deal at my alma mater lol, judging by facebook postings it seems that all the sorority women on campus are going crazy over this promotion

Everyone is going to get them eventually...this long, drawn-out "contest' nonsense is obviously a marketing gimmick.

I think you're right, DBB; it's a damn good gimmick though!

I would say ZTA, AXO, and Pi Phi will probably be the next 3. If I remember right, they were pretty high up there, along with AOPi and Phi Mu. I wish AST would get a print, but it's doubtful.

Despite the fact that I voted, I think the whole thing is just for show and a way to gather customer info. The rules clearly state that Lily reserves the right to choose the final sororities. I bet they've already made the prints and are just waiting to gather the loot.

Co-sign. While I'm positive that more than 3 sororities will "win" this time, I don't understand why they don't just come out with prints for all of the remaining NPCs already. There's clearly an overwhelming demand, and it's not like women are going to buy the current prints in the meantime while waiting for their own.

Me. Exactly. I voted, but I'm not spending any extra energy trying to gather up votes (I'll let the collegians do that! ) They have made it very obvious, in my opinion, that this whole thing is a publicity stunt and that the actual voting means absolutely nothing except free facebook advertising for them. And, well, I guess don't actually have a problem with that, since they are so upfront about the voting not actually meaning anything!

Top 9 have been picked. I'm kind of surprised to see Tri Sigma on there, to be honest. We're not a big NPC and though we were founded in Virginia, I don't think of us as Southern or preppy (i.e. the vibe I get from Lilly Pulitzer clothes). But I guess in terms of number of initiates our inclusion makes sense. Here I made a list of NPC sororities with the highest to lowest number of initiates (as sourced by Wikipedia, obviously not the most reliable data set, but for a rough estimate it works):
Chi Omega- 300,000
Delta Delta Delta- 238,000
Kappa Kappa Gamma- 235,000
Kappa Delta- 230,000
Pi Beta Phi- 230,000
Delta Zeta- 222,000
Alpha Delta Pi- 215,000
Kappa Alpha Theta- 210,000
Alpha Chi Omega- 210,000+
Zeta Tau Alpha- 207,000
Delta Gamma- 178,788
Alpha Phi- 170,000+
Gamma Phi Beta- 170,000
Sigma Kappa- 156,000
Phi Mu- 150,000
Alpha Xi Delta- 150,000
Alpha Omicron Pi
Alpha Gamma Delta- 145,000
Sigma Sigma Sigma- 100,000
Alpha Sigma Alpha- 67,000
Phi Sigma Sigma- 60,000
Delta Phi Epsilon- 55,000
Sigma Delta Tau- 40,000
Theta Phi Alpha- 20,000
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Alpha Sigma Tau
(Bold = sororities with prints already, underlined = in the top 9)
Clearly, the trend seems to be that Lilly is producing their prints to the sororities with the largest number of initiates (i.e. the most potential buyers). If that is the case, Pi Beta Phi, Alpha Chi Omega, and Zeta Tau Alpha will be next if they choose 3. If they choose 6, it will also include Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Kappa, and either Phi Mu or Alpha Xi Delta. That is, if they are going by numbers alone. I am sure the demographic of their typical buyer also comes to mind (i.e. more Southern, preppy audiences) which probably changed the results some.
If this is the case I'm not sure if the smaller NPCs will ever get a print, simply because it might not be profitable enough for Lilly to take them on. After all that being said I am still kind of hoping for a Sigma print, only because I think it would be adorable and something I can wear more as I transition to working adult from college student.

I really can't see their making a line for some of the smaller NPCs, especially when most of the remaining sororities aren't really in the target market for collegians or alumnae (I'm thinking Southern and coastal areas). Also, with the much lower numbers of potential buyers, it could be a loss for them. Obviously, it's been profitable at this point since they've continued with it. That said, I still think an AKA pattern would do exceptionally well.
As much as I do buy Lilly stuff (including my bedroom set, agenda, and iPhone case ), I can't really see myself buying an AXO patterned Lilly item. I don't really wear sorority-related items any more.

Well it looks like Lilly has broken my heart again I have a feeling that 5 groups will end up being chosen like last time, but that all groups will have prints eventually. Lots of companies make specially designed merchandise for all of the NPC groups, I think that Lilly is just spacing out their release dates so that they can also focus on non greek prints. I'll admit knowing that doesn't make any less impatient, especially since sororities without Lilly prints will soon be in the minority.

That's an interesting list! I would have been substantially off if I were to have guessed the order. Other than knowing Chi Omega was the biggest, and being able to put several other sororities in approximate size to mine, I would have been quite a bit off with the top 10.
I think the Alpha Xi Delta colors and symbols would make a great Lilly print, but I'm guessing ZTA, Gamma Phi and Pi Phi get the nod this round. Maybe we need to have Betsey Johnson jump in for us and design something TOTALLY funky.
