Haha, yeah! I know what you mean. I had to stop and re-read it like three times just to process the sheer amount of OMG.

I think I'm reading the part in ASOS that some had to re-read...I inadvertently spoiled myself on this particular plot point...so I knew it was coming...but it is so very hard to read

The new season starts April 1st.

Did anyone watch The Simpsons tribute to Game of Thrones? I LOVED it!

So one of ya'll needs to give me a heads up if there's going to be anymore (spoiler in white):

Culling of babies and children. I know we don't know if the show will follow the books plot to a T, but I cannot stomach that shit. I've been like that with other HBO shows before too. It's enough to make me stop watching the show. Seriously, my boobs started leaking when I realized what was happening and the baby was crying.

I wanted to jump through the damn TV and slit that fucking in-bred Lannister bastard's throat.

Oh, and I need more Daenerys. Lots and lots more!

We had a free HBO weekend, so I watched the marathon and the new one. I'd never seen it before, but I'd heard great things about it. I enjoyed it except the over-the-top blood gushing. Even Daenayers eating the heart didn't get to me like the spurting blood from a wound that probably would have bled, but not shooting 10 feet in the air.

Yuck on the Queen Regent who thinks her and her twin belong together.

I think the #1 thing I learned yesterday about the series is not to get too attached to a character, because they might not be around for long.

Oh, and I admit that I shouldn't be letting the 5 & 7 year old watch it (they came in from fishing with Papa around the time the blonde dude git his gold "crown" - and I flipped channels during the brothel scenes when they were around), but should I be concerned that they were less grossed out by it than I was? In fact, I told my daughter that she may not want to watch during that gold crown scene and she replied that she likes dark and creepy things.

Yes!

That’s the one downfall of this show- there is just so much going on, you feel like you’re just getting a snippet of each plot in each episode. It’s one of the fastest-moving hours on television!

I noticed that it's kinda soapy in that way. Fran Drecher said it best: "Please, it's a soap opera. We'll be lucky if that coffee's done brewing six months from now."

I will say that they are very good to the books...we are talking 700 + page books in 10 hours of TV and the way that George RR Martin writes them...yea, I'm not angry with them and I get very angry when they change the books too much....

Also, I think with the scene of the culling children, its more of a scene with Gendry and why his master got rid of him (he no longer saw a profit to the boy) and it serves for a scene upcoming...I'm sure they are going to add it because of the culling children, between Arya and Gendry....

I loved it. It was a great start to the season. I found it distasteful when they were showing outright sex, there's just no need for that. The culling of the children was also pretty shocking. I kept trying to remember if it was in the book. So terrible. I can't wait until Joffrey's demise.

Hey everyone, I've been thinking about reading this series, as I love fantasy myself. However, I'm not into really really graphic gore and someone told me that it wouldn't be a good read for me given that fact. Is that true? I hear they are amazing books so I've been really wanting to try them out.
