Actually, if it makes you feel any better, I am eating gummy bears in real life, as well.
My favorite are the ones that are almost clear and taste like pineapple.
I need to stop eating gummy bears.

Pretty much the same way you did and that it was a waste of political capital, if they had any in the first place.
