Sweetie, don't let LaQuisha or Tarlisha, or LaNeptuna be the only one that you can attract based on your appearance. If you want to date and be with Candise or Katherine, or even LaJolla, have it based on a good reflection of dress and style.

even if he wants to date the first 3 at least have them be at the same (or higher) points in life as he is.

OK, here's the scenario for you:

You're the owner of Maximillians Home Health Service. You have a good business and run a tight and nice ship. You have a dress code and so far everyone has complied. Moreover, you are doing so well, you've just hired some new Home Health Aides--3 females and 2 males.
Things have been going smooth for awhile and then you start getting some phone calls from your clients. What are their complaints, that their Home Health Aides are dressing "scandeously" and that they dress like "thugs." You call in the Home Health Aides that were complained about--the new 3 females and the 2 males and check their clothing.
Female 1-she wears her scrub bottoms which when she bends down shows her g-string.
Female 2--she wears her scrub top so tight, there is nothing left to the imagination.
Female 3--she wears her scrub top and bottom normally, but they are funky and stained--constantly.
Male 1--he wears his scrub bottoms where you see more than a plumber's crack, you just see azz.
Male 2--he wears his scrubs normally, but the B.O. hits you at the front of the office--before he even gets to your office--around the corner and down the hall.
What do you think that you would do?

Remember--this is YOUR business, your money maker, and how you pay for your bills.

Well I would make them change a few things. Like i said i know that you are suppose to dress up during a job, interviews, and things of that nature.

He will say that he will find out what they are ABOUT and not care about what they are wearing/how they look.

He has to drive the point home even if he isn't being honest or realistic.

I guess so!

But then again, the child is 19 and has a little but of a way to go. But he should remember the old saying if he keeps thinking in the way that he does, he going to "have a hard row to hoe."

And I guess that's the thing with kids today--they don't or aren't or aren't capable of being honest and realistic with themselves or anyone else.

Then they tend to wonder why people react to them the way that they do. But then you cannot teach an old dog new tricks and new dogs tend to wonder why they are back at the pound.

You're just as bad as he is when you say things like this. Just FYI.

For what it's worth, old dogs who don't learn to adapt to changes brought on by new dogs tend to become quickly irrelevant, yipping annoyingly in the back of the pound.

Whatever you say. It was just that way that I saw it. Don't get offended if it wasn't meant for you.

I'm not "offended" at all - just pointing out the irony in a decidedly inflexible view of those darn kids (of whom I'm probably not even one). Carry on telling them to get off your lawn.

She was rather dramatic in her typing. In an unentertaining kind of way.

Make them change a few things?

Boy are--you are NOT in Egypt! This is not the River of Denial!

Child, stop deluding yourself as to "I would change a few things." There are way too many things that would have to be changed with this scenario.

Stop trying to downplay the situation and learn how to--how does the phrase go--man up.

This is about being able to KNOW how to DRESS and KNOW WHERE to DRESS and be APPROPRIATE where you go!

Everybody has a different dress style though. You telling me just because they are not dressing to the half of americas liking that it is wrong?

This might not be a good comparison but its like a car. It seems that you people would get the car that looks the best(aka the person that wears the suits) on the outside instead of the car that burns the least amount of gas.

Since we're talking about physical appearances and dating:

I get the car that both looks the best and burns the least amount of gas.

For some of us, the world is truly our oyster. We really can have it all.

O.K., but in corporate America, there are certain things that are expected!

When I was working at a Mental Health facility or at the Drug Rehab, I don't think they would have appreciated it if I showed up wearing tube socks with a pair of high heels and a tube dress (mind you I know my body size) and go to work to "help" the clients.

No I think I would have been told: 1) go back home and get dressed and you will not be compensated for the time away; 2) go and buy something appropriate to wear and return to work; and 3) if you refuse to do 1 or 2 go home and don't come back and we will mail you your check!

No what I am telling you is that when you are running a business, people expect your business to be run a certain way. At the Mustang Ranch in Nevada, they require those girls to look a certain way, but from a Home Health Agency, you require your employees to dress a certain way.

Dressing like a soiled dove or a sloven dolt is not the way that you want to present yourself or your agency or is it? If it is, believe me, you won't have an agency for long.

No, when I get a car, I get one that I can AFFORD! Simple as that!

What I am saying is that you are trying to justify dressing a certain way because of your desire too without looking at what you are a) going for, b) attracting, or c) what your home training might have been.
