I still like Revlon better than anything, including the salon polishes. It stays on the longest and seems to protect my nails the most.

China Glaze!!! I have like 10 bottles lol. I always can get away with wearing this brand for DAYS without top coat..it like never chips (and Im a bartender so Im constantly washing my hands, popping beer bottles etc.) If you go to Sally Beauty supply they are cheap, like $5-$6.

I don't use the CND Shellac, but I do wear the Dashing Diva for french manicures and the OPI Axxium when I wear colors.

In my experience, it does last for 2-3 weeks. Plus, my nails are a kabillion times healthier since there is no drilling or acrylics used.

Chanel nail polish is superb, but the choice of colors is very limited and it is quite expensive. It doesn't just stay on longer, it stays fresh and shiny looking the whole time. My favorite color is a dark, dark purple - almost back - it's called Vendetta.

I stick to mostly silver and dark colors for nail polish, and China Glaze is my favorite brand

I've been very happy with the OPI brand.

I like Essie for the brights, and OPI for the intense colors, though I have some in probably every brand. Unless I LOVE the color, I don't want to pay more than a few bucks for a bottle. An newer brand - Nicole - is around $6-7 and has really pretty colors. I'm just not that into the typical Revlon mauve or lilac colors. But OPI is my favorite brand.

My chief complain is that, like many girls, I have 20+ colors at any given time. I am always assessing for goopiness, or choosing the one I like better of similar colors (sometimes I buy a color and it's just not right, and end up finding a better one later). I give them to my sisters and nieces, but if you have 20 different colors, and there are only 52 weeks a year, you MIGHT wear a color 3-6 times?

When I get Essie, I get the sample size, which is good for 3-5 finger AND toe nail applications. I just hate to pay $8-10 for a bottle I might use only 1/3 of. Anyone else have this problem?

PS I found a brand at Walgreens called "Sinful Colors". They are really pretty and have a rainbow of medium-intense colors. They were pretty cheap and the color is frosty but has good coverage. I have 8 of them - coral, red, bubblegum pink, green, medium blue, purple, silver.

While we're on the topic of nail polish, I've been wanting to use a matte nail polish for a very long time, and I found this one brand called Man Glaze that's supposed to be amazing...has anyone used it or matte polish in general?

Nail Polish Brands:
OPI, Nicole by OPI, and Sephora by OPI
Essie
Orly

Mascara: I am now desparately trying to find a mascara that will not flake. In partiularly one that will not flake into my eyes and wreak havoc with my contacts to the point where I have to take out and clean my contacts and use q-tips to remove excess flakes from my lower inner eyelid.

I have used: Bare Minerals Flawless Definition, Maybelline's Great Lash, Sephora, Definicils by Lancome. I love all how all of these mascaras make my lashes look but after three hours they start to flake. I love DiorShow too but i havent used it recently because of how hard it is to get off my lashes.

Any suggestions?

I use Max Factor's 2000 Calorie (straight brush) mascara. I love it! It's waterproof yet comes off easily (with eye makeup remover, of course). I haven't had any problems with flaking, so it's never bothered my contacts.

MF isn't available in the US anymore - I hope you stocked up.

I like Maybelline Define-a-Lash (lengthening, waterproof). It NEVER smudges, but still comes off fairly easy when I want it to. I was a DIEHARD user of Maybelline Lash Discovery until they stopped making it in Brownish Black.

I've always loved Sally Hansen. I've been wearing my favorite color (Sally Hansen xtreme wear in fuschia power) for about 3 weeks now on my toes, and no chips. OPI is my second favorite. I find that SH lasts better than OPI, using the same top coat.
