Just a random night time correction - Phi Sigma Sigma was the first, being founded in 1913, D Phi E was founded in 1917...
On March 17, 1917, five women at New York University Law School took a pledge of sisterhood and loyalty and so founded the Alpha Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon, one of the first non-sectarian, social sororities and the only one founded at a professional school. -from the DPhiE website.
But hey, both of our orgs were deffinately making positive changes for women everywhere!
Ill do this thinger later with everyone - I dont have time right now...
but...
Phi Sigma Sigma - since my first semester in college, I have been IN LOVE with this organization. I had to go alumna early because I had some family/financial problems - but I took up advising positions since - and it has just opened so many doors for me!
Tau Beta Sigma - National Honorary Sorority for the Collegiate Band - I got nothin but love for T-B-SSSSSS! The spirit that this group shows is amazing. All of our chapters overcome obsticales and as our founder Wava said when asked if the turtle is our mascot. 'Our mascot should be the cockroach, because we are everywhere and you just cant get rid of us!'
Beta Sigma Phi - Much love to the organization that gives ANY woman the chance to be in a sorority. A fine organization founded because women needed education and connection during the depression - when many couldnt go to college. I love my chapter! PA NI!

Maybe this will help. DPhiE was the first social non-sectarian sorority to be founded, whereas Phi Sigma Sigma (as you all know) was originally founded as a non-sectarian educational sorority. So we both had our firsts...

As far as I know we were not founded as an educational sorority. I have read our history a million gazillion times and do not ever remember reading that.

I was under the impression that Phi Sigma Sigma was originally an AES sorority? I could be wrong though, oh well!
Anyway there is a reason why that qualifier is on there in our history.

The only still existing AES sororities are ASA, SSS and AST. PSS was never in the AES.

Pi Kappa Sigma, not Phi Sigma Sigma, was originally a member of AES.
Read more about AES here!

Since we only had 6 NPC's on my campus I've done some research online...
Alpha Chi Omega:I love your heritage, and how your name was chosen, that's really neat and that you share that is really special. Also Merideth Monroe is an A Chi O. (I'm a Dawson's Creek junky!)
Alpha Delta Pi: I love your rich history and on our campus, ADPi was always had the closest sisterhood. I loved that about them.
Alpha Epsilon Phi: The new UCF colony! YEA! Your crest is really neat, and I love your Jewish roots. (My friends and I have been studying Jewish Biblical history, so that's really interesting to me.)
Alpha Gamma Delta: A part of the Syracuse triad, gotta love that! And Survivor's AMBER was a AGD!! (yet another addiction! *LOL*)
Alpha Omicron Pi: My best friend is an AOTT ! It's funny because we just met a few years ago, and have been inseperable ever since. Of course, we totally bonded over our greek roots... :-) So I love AOTT!
Alpha Phi: Another member of the Syracuse triad...I really admire your creed.
Alpha Sigma Alpha: Aspire Seek Attain, very high ideals! And I love your inclusion of Christ. Being a Christian and a new church founder that is always wonderful to me!
Alpha Sigma Tau: AST is an official sorority, like Gamma Phi, and I love your ideals. Tradition seems to be an important part of AST, and that's so very important!
Alpha Xi Delta: I had many good friends in AZD in college. And the AZD house was conected to ours on campus (we shared dorm like houses). The girls were super sweet, and probably the most caring and kind girls on campus.
Chi Omega: I had several high school friends who went Chi O! They were such amazing girls, very smart and funny. And I love your purposes.
Delta Delta Delta: I live on the ocean and gotta love the dolphins! And I LOVE your website. The Deltas on my campus were always fun, although I only really knew a couple of them well, they seemed like they were always having fun together.
Delta Gamma: I love your symbol, and I've always heard such good things about DG!
Delta Phi Epsilon: You have a very interesting logo/symbol, and of course who doesn't love unicorns??
Delta Zeta: I love your philanthropy, and your badge is very pretty. There was a chapter at our "rival" school (Arkansas State) and I always heard great things about DZ.
Gamma Phi Beta: I'm a little biased, but the thing I love most about Gamma Phi, is what a wonderful legacy and what wonderful frienships it has brought into my life. I could go on and on... so I'll stop now. :-)
Kappa Alpha Theta: I love CASA, it's such a noble and worthy cause and does so much good for so many children.
Kappa Kappa Gamma : Your badge is really beautiful as is your website. It's neat that there are so many Kappa firsts!
Phi Mu: A beautiful creed, and a unique badge! (and colors ;-) Pink and white are my chapter's "informal colors")
Phi Sigma Sigma: I love your badge, and your symbol being the sphynix. I also like that you were the first nonsectarian sorority.
Pi Beta Phi: I have to say... I met a Pi Phi on a cruise once, and she was fantastic! She really impressed me, and we got along great!
Sigma Delta Tau: Your website is beautiful, and your colors and jewel are really really unique and beautiful!
Sigma Kappa: Your badge is really beautiful!
Sigma Sigma Sigma: The tri sigmas on my campus were a small tight-knit group. They were very positive and enthusiastic, and were always sending out cute notes and kind letters to all the chapters.
Theta Phi Alpha: Your history is very interesting and I love the use of the compass. It's unique and interesting.
Zeta Tau Alpha: Zeta has the prettiest colors, and unfortunately the chapter at Southeast Missouri State closed the year before my freshman year. I love the crown too, because all my friends call me "the princess" *lol*.

I'll post about the sororities that I know pretty well (there's only 5 on our campus, but I have friends in a few others at different schools!)
Delta Gamma -- On our campus, the DGs are some of the nicest girls I think you could ever meet. I also really admire the commitment to service.
Gamma Phi Beta -- My roommate was a Gamma Phi! She was a sweetheart. I like the motto (I think it's the motto...) of "Love, Labor, Learning, Loyalty."
Kappa Delta -- I've never once heard a KD saying bad things about another sister. They have great spirit and are always represented very well at Greek events...they show their pride for their organization and their support of each other very well!
Sigma Kappa -- We share the same flower One of my very good friends is a Sigma Kappa and I can tell you first hand how much time she devotes to her organization. All of the Sig K's I know are very dedicated. I think it is also a testament to their hardwork that they made quota through COR after falling short during formal recruitment. Good Job!
Alpha Delta Pi --
Alpha Sigma Alpha -- I love the meaning of the letters... "Aspire, Seek, Attain."
Alpha Chi Omega -- My best friend since forever is pledging AChiO on her campus. She just loves it and could talk for hours about how nice and sincere the girls are.
Delta Delta Delta -- A friend of mine is the President at the Rose-Hulman chapter, so I'm kind of biased.. but I do like the symbolism of the Dolphin. It represents what sororities are about : friendship and leadership.
Phi Mu -- Founded at the same college, one year later! We share the mascot of a lion.
Pi Beta Phi -- I became friends at a Youth Leadership Conference with a girl who pledged Pi Phi on her campus! She is a great person who lives for other people and enjoys every second of life! I'm sure she represents this sisterhood very well!
Zeta Tau Alpha -- just recently found out that a girl I've gone to school with since preschool's Mom is a Zeta! She is a very kind and wise woman who has always been a big part of my life! She has always pushed me to do my best, I admire her a lot!

Alpha Chi Omega: The lyre, its also a symbol of TBS and has meaning to any musical person. Plus, your website is pimp.
Alpha Delta Pi:
Alpha Epsilon Phi: Jewish roots are super cool concidering that many of the Phi Sig founders were jewish and thats why they couldnt join the same org. Most of our past national presidents were jewish! PLUS your flower is beautiful.
Alpha Gamma Delta: There have been so many great AGDs Ive met. You all should come live in the Pittsburgh neighborhood called Squrriel Hill!
Alpha Omicron Pi: I like how your greek letters can be done with A O T T AOTT, hehe...
Alpha Phi: Yay for cool APhi's Ive met. Plus they're mentioned in a book I just read called "21". They were the 'pretty sorority'
Alpha Sigma Alpha: 33girl. Thats all I gotta say, shes awesome.
Alpha Sigma Tau: They were all really nice when I went through formal rush in 200
Alpha Xi Delta: I love your teddy bears, they were my chapters mascot! I also like the presidents medallion thing... pretty neat!
Chi Omega: I wanted to be a Chi Omega when I was little - my grandpa's college had them...
Delta Delta Delta: I love that your letters are all symmetrical, Im so weird on symmetry.
Delta Gamma: I love the anchor - and you always hear about DGs doing great things!
Delta Phi Epsilon: I knew some nice DPhiE's on campus, we always ended up cheering for eachother during Greek Week because we had common rivals!
Delta Zeta: I was preffed by DZ and Phi Sig, I had some great friends in DZ! My cousin/boss was a DZ at my school.
Gamma Phi Beta: I LOVE YOUR COLORS, no really, I do. I used to do a "potty press" thing in my house with things on different sororites, and I fell in love with GPhiB!
Kappa Alpha Theta: You always hear about Kappa Alpha Theta when people mention sororities - so many great women have come from this org!
Kappa Kappa Gamma : I love the key, and your history!
Phi Mu: I met a really nice Phi Mu from Penn State through a friend, she was really nice and had funny stories about when the real southern Phi Mu's came to visit...
Phi Sigma Sigma: AHHHHHHHHHH, yes... I definately love this organization. I love our Sphinx, aka, George - the meaning behind everything we do... I love that we chose the NKF because at the time the second killer of women was kidney disease. I love what we do on Make A Difference Day and just the fact that we are growing... besides, my chapter is awesome, and so is the chapter I advise!
Pi Beta Phi: A girl I met online, then met in person in HS became a Pi Phi, and she is really great - such a good addition to the organization!
Sigma Delta Tau: I like how we were both in the same boat, having chosen one name, only to find it was used and have to change our orgs name! We were supposed to be Phi Sigma Omega!
Sigma Kappa: My small group leader at church was a Sigma Kappa - she is so nice... Plus your colors are pretty!
Sigma Sigma Sigma: The Tri Sigmas on our campus cheered with us for greek week too!
Theta Phi Alpha: I had a roomie and a friend in TPA, they were small on our campus, but really really great girls!
Zeta Tau Alpha: I love ZTA's philanthropy since my grandma is a survivor of breast cancer and my best friends mom passed away due to it! The ZTAs were really cool on our campus!

First off I want to thank everyone for everything that has been said about Theta Phi, and since there are no other Theta Phis posting on this I will say something about all of the sororities I know...
Alpha Omicron Pi: Great bunch of girls... At UofL I can remember Always AOII from formal recruitment. I pledged but it wasn't for me at that time in my life, Theta Phi is my home. But I will always have this wierd obsession with Pandas LOL
Chi Omega: I knew some wonderful Chi Os, the girls were always nice and very welcoming.
Delta Delta Delta: I know one Tri-Delt and she couldn't be any sweeter.
Delta Gamma: I have the upmost respect for these girls... I love the anchor it makes you stay grounded and that is what you need sometimes in life.
Delta Zeta: What can I say about these girls, some of my best friends were/are DZ. Love the colors
Phi Sigma Sigma: These girls are down to earth and sincere in everything that they do
Pi Beta Phi: UofL chapter is awesome! Helped me after a few bad nights with the boys.
Sigma Kappa: I always get you girls mixed up with Kappa Sigma... I guess at times I have those moments... But I love you girls. One of your sisters drove me home when my car wouldn't work. Very close sisterhood
Theta Phi Alpha: Last but in my heart my absolute favorite. We have a sisterhood that may be smaller than everyone else but it is a sisterhood that was established for those people that were being put down. We will continue to get bigger because "Nothing great is ever achieved without much enduring" -St. Catherine of Sienna.
To everyone else that I left out I wish I knew more about you.

Well this thread has just made my day 10 times better. I'm very glad I found it!
Alpha Chi Omega - I love the music connections in your founding, music is so important! And of course, Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I LOVE the colors! I also read about why they chose the letters Alpha, Chi, and Omega, very interesting!
Alpha Delta Pi - A very strong southern sorority! A good friend of mine was an ADPi and she is such a lovely woman, and I really watched her grow through her sorority. I also like the motto "We live for each other"
Alpha Epsilon Phi - I love the "Many Hearts, One Purpose" motto, it really shows unity! And I absolutely love love LOVE that you're involved in Pediatric AIDS, it's just SO important!
Alpha Gamma Delta - It seems like y'all really encourage education, and I like that! The squirrel is just so cute too. I knew a woman who was an AGD and she was just the most adorable girl, and she truly loved her sisters!
Alpha Omicron Pi - One of my closest friends is an AOPi and she has maybe the best sense of humor of anyone I've ever met! I think it's very unique that you don't have a crest or shield. You can really hold your own.
Alpha Phi - My cousin is an Alpha Phi! I really watched her go from a shy unsure college freshman to one of the most admirable women I know. Lily-of-the-valleys are so lovely!
Alpha Sigma Alpha - We were founded at the same place! I love the symbol of the Phoenix - rising from the ashes. Very touching, and something that anyone that's faced adversity should aim for. I also like that you have exemplars, it's a very unique idea!
Alpha Sigma Tau - Habitat for Humanity is a great philanthropy, especially in light of recent events. I have never met an AST but I certainly would like to!
Alpha Xi Delta - I love the symbol of the quill, it's a great thing to live by! The Fuzzie bear is just SO cute! I also really like that you have a flag, that's a really great idea.
Chi Omega - I know so many women that are Chi O's and they are just amazing ladies! You have a very strong national which is very admirable. I always see owls as very wise, so you must be too, of course! And who doesn't like the Make A Wish Foundation?
Delta Delta Delta - like someone else said I always think of that SNL skit! I absolutely love all of your symbols, the badge is absolutely beautiful! I know a few girls that are tridelts and they are just the most adorable girls. Children's philanthropies are important to me(obviously!) so Children's Cancer...I just can't say enough about that!
Delta Gamma - The anchor is a beautiful symbol! I just love nautical things. Helping the blind is something that I think is just too often overlooked, and it's great that you guys have that as your philanthropy!
Delta Phi Epsilon - It's great that you support those who have suffered through Anorexia. And the unicorn is an interesting mascot, I like it!
Delta Zeta - Lily Pulitzer I just love pink and green! You guys also have a great philanthropy. I think the turtle symbol is just so cute too! My best friend from home is a DZ, so I've met many of her sisters and they're all fabulous!
Gamma Phi Beta - I like that your crest looks hand-drawn, it's beautiful. I like that your motto is "Founded Upon A Rock" - sounds like a strong sisterhood!
Kappa Alpha Theta - Laura Bush was a Theta and she's just so lovely. Every Theta I've ever met has just been amazing, and great company. I could spend HOURS talking to them!
Kappa Delta - well now I'm biased aren't I? :P I love everything my sorority's given me, so thank you to all my sisters out there! I love philanthropy, so I love that we have 4 of them!
Kappa Kappa Gamma - My aunt was a Kappa and she is a very inspiring and powerful woman. You guys are such a strong national so keep up the good work! The fleur-de-lis is very beautiful too.
Phi Mu - Pink! I love all of my Phi Mu friends and they absolutely adore Phi Mu! I really like the creed too, it's long but very significant.
Phi Sigma Sigma - I don't know a lot about Phi Sig so I had to do some research. It seems as though your vision and mission are ones that will be flexible into the future. Your founders must have been foward thinking!
Pi Beta Phi - I like the arrow, it's such a nice symbol. I like that there are 12 links on the badge for each of the founders - very touching. I like the Angel mascot too.
Sigma Delta Tau - I like the Torch symbol! And Prevent Child Abuse America is a good choice I like that you were founded as a Jewish sorority and have become very strong, that's awesome!
Sigma Kappa - Alzheimer's is a great philanthropy and needs a lot of support, so good for you! A girl from the TV show Boy Meets World was a Sigma Kappa!
Sigma Sigma Sigma - I met a woman just last month who was a Sigma. One of the most genuine people! I like that the sailboat represents "progressing towards its destination."
Theta Phi Alpha - This is another sorority that I enjoyed learning about. I think it's interesting that you have badges for different stages of membership. And penguins are just so cute!
Zeta Tau Alpha - Stand Up Stand Out! Absolutely great girls, I think they truly support being a strong woman and not lowering your standards for others. I have a lot of respect for ZTA!
Well that's all I can think of for now!

Ok, I've wanted to do this for a while so here goes. Caveat: There were only 5 sororities on my campus so I don't know a lot about some of them, but I'll do my best!
Alpha Chi Omega- One of my best friends is an Alpha Chi and swears that had I rushed at her school, they're where I would have fit in the best. Whether or not that's true, I love the lyre and the history is so cool!
Alpha Delta Pi- My mom's an ADPi and I love the Ronald McDonald house as a philanthropy. Also, Alphie is a sweetie!
Alpha Epsilon Phi- "Many hearts, one purpose" makes me smile because it's similar to Sigma Kappa's "One heart, one way" and I am of course biased in that direction. Also, your support of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center is awesome for the hospital's non-discriminatory treatment. Something that is taken, mostly, for granted here and now.
Alpha Gamma Delta- Heraldry fascinates me, and your armorial bearings are, I think, the most subtle in their meanings. Plus, SQUIRRELS!
Alpha Omicron Pi- I love the "red" focus. Cardinal (color), Rose, Ruby... all deep gorgeous reds. Ok, and Pandas are cute too. (Since it's unofficially a mascot, would you consider the Red Panda?)
Alpha Phi- I like the Ursa Major, Phi bear connection! Plus you were the first to build your own house!
Alpha Sigma Alpha- Wow, knew nothing about ASA til now but the breadth of the symbolism is fantastic. I love the multiple exemplars and colors and everything. Plus the phoenix is very very cool to a mythology nerd like me.
Alpha Sigma Tau- I like the change from Fraternity to Sorority and that some chapters kept the first. I also like the candle atop your Coat of Arms. (Plus Green and Gold, plus the original purple makes Mardi Gras!)
Alpha Xi Delta- The quill is the sign of a scholar, something I respect greatly! Same as the motto "The Pen is Mightier than the Sword"
Chi Omega- The whole skull thing has always fascinated me, in that morbid way. So I am of course curious. Make a Wish foundation is a noble cause and one that can break your heart so kudos for ChiOs for their hard work.
Delta Delta Delta- My little sister just pledged! I have to say, the trident guard is really unique and cool, though I want to ask if that is more common than having a chapter guard or vice-versa?
Delta Gamma- Do Good is a fantastic motto and Hannah is cute! Also I think the fact that you have a real Delta Gamma rose (or at least had, hopefully you have again) is great!
Delta Phi Epsilon- I love that Justice is one of your principles. Also, I have a fondness for triangle badges and the color purple, but beyond that anorexia is a great philanthropy
Delta Zeta - My grandma is a DZ! She always said in school they were called the "dizzy" girls and it still makes me giggle! The lamp is a sign of wisdom, also to be admired!
Gamma Phi Beta- I think the set up of your colors is fascinating. The colors themselves are unique, but then the use of unofficial colors, chapter colors, etc is cool. Our campus used pink predominantly, though the DGs felt jealous!
Kappa Alpha Theta- Very cool looking badge! And I love the attitude of your founders, "If you won't initiate me into your fraternity, I'll start my own!"
Kappa Delta- First off, your Coat of Arms is so... complex! From the snake to the dagger to the one part of green to the lamp... very cool. (Oh yeah, and skull too!) I recently learned the nautilus shell is an example of a perfect spiral so I thought that was cool!
Kappa Kappa Gamma - What can I say, I think the key is cool, the focus on the blues is great, and as a (temporary) St. Louisian, I have quite the fondness for the fleur-de-lis.
Phi Mu- "Soeurs Fideles" and Sir Fidel is great! The quatrefoil symbol and badge are also unique and cool, and I was wondering if the ladybug comes from the look of the quatrefoil symbol in the middle of your coat of arms. I swear I can see a ladybug there!
Phi Sigma Sigma- First off, cool badge. The sphinx is a feminine symbol of cleverness and mystery and the sapphire's just stand out, going well with your colors. And need I mention that alleviating the world's pain is one of the coolest purposes/mottos I've seen? No, I needn't.
Pi Beta Phi - Something about the arrows has always intrigued me. And can you say, 12 founders? I'm glad I wasn't studying for that new member test! From the heraldry side, your crest is interesting in that it doubles as your coat of arms and is not standard in shape or content.
Sigma Delta Tau- Very interesting colors, and Prevent Child Abuse is a very worthy cause. I'd like to say more, but your site won't load Someone fix it!
Sigma Kappa - What can I say, where my heart is happiest. The dove, the pearl, the violet, the heart, lavendar, maroon... what could be better? Nothing!
Sigma Sigma Sigma- Sigma Kappa and Sigma Sigma Sigma have much outwardly in common, enough that people keep thinking we're related! While I know better, I love that we share the triangle badge and purple and the violet. Something always attracts me to Sigma Sigma Sigma and I wonder if in another life that's where I'd be... I also like that you have an official ceremonial song!
Theta Phi Alpha - The compass is a cool symbol, and penguins are absolutely adorable. I also like that there is a Catholic background to your fraternity.
Zeta Tau Alpha - Interesting choice of Themis and the carpenter's square also intrigues. I also think it's cool that though many sororities are fond of violets, you're the only one with a white violet!
