Today is Bid Day at Georgia Tech!
They started recruitment a day earlier than usual this year, putting Bid Day on Tuesday rather than Wednesday. Freshmen move in on Thursday, but recruitment didn't start until Saturday in the past (with silencing on Friday night). Now it only runs into two school days rather than three.
Running for Roses will be Wednesday night (that is chapter night at GT), instead of packing it all in on Bid Day.

NUBlue&Blue, what did you hear about Nebraska recruitment? Did the chapters have a great year?

Since none of my children would go to Nebraska (sniff) I don't hear much. The Sigma chapter facebook page just says that the girls found their home at 616, but doesn't say how many! Old AOPi's daughter is a freshman and she has an older fraternity boy son, so she probably has more details. Since we don't use the quota system, that can't really be reported. I know last year's KKG pledge class had 41, according to FB pictures. Previous years look to be in the range of 38-40. We had 32 back in the day, so seems to be pretty consistent.

All I know about Nebraska is Theta took 45 (including my dd). Rumor was that 300+ dropped according to the pnm grape vine. ADPi also took part in regular recruitement this year, instead of later. And details from my son? HA!

Thanks for the updates... my parents transferred to Omaha for several years while I was an active, and I remember the beautiful sorority houses from a couple of trips to Lincoln. Also, our Pi chapter sisters made a road trip to Stillwater and stayed in our house and we went to the Nebraska/OSU game together, where we spent a sisterly Saturday afternoon watching the Pokes get shellacked by the Huskers. I have always kinda followed the greek system in Lincoln ever since.
If those numbers are accurate, I hate to hear of that many PNMs dropping. Congrats on your daughter's theta bid, OldAOPi!

I wrote my first rec this year and I'm so excited for this girl. She preffed at three chapters at UF (ZTA included) and I really hope she gets a bid to ZTA today - it sounded like she'd honestly be happy anywhere but of course I'm biased :P She finds out at 6p and I'll be in recruitment workshops at Stetson so I'm sure I'll be a little Blackberry happy...

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else. UF quota is 57 and AOII took 59 according to a report I just saw on FB.

I SO SO SO wish DG would take a good look at coming back. There are alums still in Arkansas - and they are old enough to provide financial assistance. Plus, with strong DG chapters at schools close by (like Ole Miss, Mizzou) this seems like a good fit.

I would ADORE if AXO came back to U of A. But, unfortunately, I don't think we have the money to do it, I believe (though don't know) that we don't have the money to invest into that, and we don't have a huge Southern reputation. We don't really have the alumnae base in that area either (though the OK chapters are not all that far away...). But I don't see that happening any time soon....

Wow, still in the 40's even with the addition of Alpha Phi. Haven't talked to my daughter yet...she's enjoying her last bid day as an undergrad, so I'll check with her later. Boy, that went fast!
ETA: Just talked to her and Phi Mu got 41.

I guess UF quota range was 49-57. It'll take awhile to figure out what the true quota number was.

Crazy, but I've seen a lot of girls head to Georgia too. What amazes me this year is that 900 PNM's showed up for Rush. That's HUGE from the past numbers after the University dropped Provisionals. I'm thrilled to see that 10% are beautiful, smart and well rounded.
