I would choose anything but strapless because I have friends who are very well endowed and they would need the coverage and support.

^ Really liking that Priscilla of Boston dress, especially in that color.

What's with everyone's dislike of strapless dresses? While I don't think that they should be the #1 option, I think that when done well, they can look appropriate. As mentioned in another thread, proper tailoring and undergarments are the key to looking pulled together, no matter if your dress is strapless or scoopneck. /soapbox

but you are taking a risk that your bridesmaids will take the time and go to the expense of getting those critically needed alterations and foundation garments. and don't forget the back fat, which i have seen too many times on brides as they face the alter and especially on that show,"say yes to the dress."

Bridesmaids' Dresses decided. Seems that my future MIL has a skilled seamstress as a good friend and will basically make the dresses at cost. They will be the standard tea length velvet/velour, scoop neck, three-quarter length sleeves. I already found some beautiful tulle the exactly right shade of blue, and will make scarves that they can wear as they want (belt, neck, hair, whatever). Probably silver shoes, and I plan to get them each a faux white stole. If I can find a picture, I'll post it.

Picture this in a cobalt blue, a (very) little flair to the skirt, and tea length:

Since this is my second time around, having full-blown bridesmaid dresses seemed too frou-frou. They all like the idea of a "classic, I can wear it again dress", and not having to wear Christmas colors. My MIL wants red in there somewhere, but the closest she's going to get is the holly berries!

Is it me or does this dress scream Audrey Hepburn? Obviously a good thing!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a bridesmaid's dress that can easily be worn again but that would also be fitting at a white tie? I don't want the bridesmaids to look undressed but I also want them to be able to easily wear the dress again.

I like Grecian draped dresses like this one from Zara, it looks good on most shapes.
