The Omegas are considered Delta's brothers, because they helped us fill out the necessary paperwork for the school and then one of them ran across the campus to file our application for us before the deadline.

Delta's colors are crimson and cream, because of two reasons. The Kappas called one of their fraters who then worked in administration at Howard and asked him to pull strings for us to get Founded on the campus. The other reason is if you separate the colors that make up pink, you get red and white.

Interesting. It makes things a lot clearer to hear it from a Delta's perspective.

Sigma Tau Gamma was the first Fraternity to start a Presidents' Leadership Institute for all Chapter Presidents.

Ours did the same thing....and altho it was never told to me why we changed....our original name was Pi Omicron Psi Fraternity, Inc.

DZ's colors were picked by the founders going and looking at ribbon til they found two colors they liked. Also, the first meeting they had was held in a house where the carpet was pink and green. One of our founders had pink and green as her wedding colors.

Dr. Guy Potter Benton, a Phi Delta Theta, helped found DZ and is the only man to have worn a DZ badge

I think Zeta is the first org to have a chapter in Africa, as Alpha had a chapter in Canada in 1908 and London in 1938.

The old Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi was located in Montreal, Quebec, being associated with students at McGill. The Canadian APhiA chapter, correct me if I'm wrong, was Toronto based.

Serious question. From how I was educated, I was told in order to start a GLO, it must have a purpose that no other organization already has in order to be formed. With SGRho, did they form the first BGLO for women educators just to get their foot in the door and then decide to amend their constitution?

^ I think you were misinformed. Who's double checking every GLOs purpose against the 100s that already exist?

And to further this (which I just found on our website during the past few days)...

Pretty cool!

Serious question: Foot in what door?

This is a pretty decent and civil thread. Let's keep it that way.
