I just got an invite to the wedding of two good friends. The theme appears to be black, white, and gold. The last wedding I went to (May 2009) was black, hot pink, and silver.
Soooo excited! I love these two people so much and am so excited for them! I almost teared up when I got the invitation.

Interesting and pretty take on purple and red:

I love the teal and red, though I hate on Tiffany themes as a general principle.

The purple and red is very nice. And of course, I"m partial to the blue theme above.

I'm leaning toward turquoise (it's always been my fave, and of course there's the ZTA connection) and my fiance likes purple (big Baltimore Ravens fan). I think we can do both somehow - like maybe if they both lean toward the blue side? Has anyone seen good turquoise/purple combos?
Also, we want to incorporate the river as a theme, but I see tons of "beach" ideas and no "river" ideas. Seashells don't fit, ya know? :-)

Not sure if this is what you're thinking of. Alot of purple and turquiose color combos tend to add in green or another color to offset it, which turns it toward peacock or something like that. lol. Still pretty though.

Haha, actually I have. Maybe when I get tired of my profession, but for now it's really just a hobby (helping my friends out with their events.)

Seriously. You should. I've gotten so many ideas from you.
I'm currently considering other combos to make both mother's happy. My mom agreed to doing red and white for my engagement party though.

The fact that Violet and I live in the same city makes her not being a wedding coordinator even more disappointing.
Trying to pick a date (or even choices of dates) for a med student and PhD student is downright ridiculous. Unfortunately, it seems like the smartest and easiest idea would be to wait until after we both graduate and to get married sometime between then and the start of my residency. Now, trying to pick that weekend without knowing when I would actually have to start said residency will be interesting.
It's just so far away. We've already been together 5 1/2 years; it'll be almost 8 1/2 by the time we're married if this ends up being the plan. If we didn't live in different states, I would marry the guy tomorrow.
Oh, and I really like the peacock theme!

That's tough. Anyone I've ever known who was engaged during med school just waited until after grad and before res. Esp. If they were only interested in a summer date.
Are you open to a Friday or an off-seasonish wedding like December or Jan? (Yes, I know it's cold lol) I don't know what the med school schedule is like but if you're REALLY not wanting to wait, you could marry over a holiday break maybe?

I really don't care about the time of year. Our big thing is not wanting to have to start out being married by living in separate states, which would be the situation if we got married before graduation.
We'll figure something out.

These are super cute KSUViolet. I'm sending a bunch to my best friend who originally had 'teal and coral' as her wedding colors but as of last weekend, changed to mostly blueish.
