I had fun at DLC this weekend even though i was so sick. I still am The fact that it has been cold and rainy doesn't help.

Smiley, I'm so sorry to hear you were sick! I hope you were able to get a lot out of the conference to take back to your chapter, especially as FVP (I know I did!)
It was so much fun to be at DLC for the first time and to see HBADPi - for the first time since this past summer!
And my chapter got some awards too - especially in my advising area, so I'm always excited about that!

Smiley - I haven't been checking GC as much lately as I would like, so I missed that you were coming to Asheville! I just got back from District II DLC as well. I hate that you are sick - one of our collegians was quite ill this morning and had to miss the Sunday sessions.
Just have to brag on my Gamma Phi (East Tenn State) girls - they were called out for every award possible this morning!! (Well - except for most improved GPA - they're pretty consistent.) It just makes a chapter advisor so proud to see and hear the hard work of these women get recognized.
Hope everyone has enjoyed their conferences and learned a lot!!

DLC was great but exhausting, most of my poor girls are servers and had the late shift on Friday night so they didnt get in until 2-3 am. They were all walking around like the living dead by Sunday morning. It was a great experience going as an advisor, I got to know all the girls so much better and we all had such a great time together. I think they all walked away so grateful to have us as advisors because I got 2 emails already thanking me for all my help this weekend and everything I've done for the chapter. I expect great things from them now and we found out we got a good chance at Diamond 4-point!

Congrats! Diamond 4-point is always exciting - I'm hoping to get my girls to that point soon!

Thanks Jennie! The girls went through so much last semester that it would be the best way to end the year. It was so great to see you and meet all the other IOs we have in D6. I finally got to meet our DTD and I LOVE her!!!

I completely understand! I'll be sending you a PM in a minute with that information we kinda talked about yesterday and a little today (gosh, was it only earlier this morning?!?!?!)
I LOVE all our IO's, especially our DTD! Each one of them is great, and it's nice to finally put "a face to the name" - especially when I was spending SO much time with the FVP this past semester communicating with our Chapter Finance Director!

This may sound really, I'm not sure, but we got Diamond Four Point every year while I was in school. I get SOOOOOOOOOO upset when I see that my chapter didn't get it each year!
I can't help but wonder if collegiates realize how much alumnae really, really look to see if their chapter won it - because we really do care!!!
No pressure, but I can remember when our delegates would come back and say that we *only* won Diamond Four Point! We would be miserable....

Which Grand Council member attended your DLC? I was hoping for Mrs. Goddard (my first DLC as a collegiate, Chris Dickey was there!!!!!!!!)...we had Renee Iacona, International Vice President of Finance, at District IV DLC.

We had the International Vice President of Alumnae and the NPC Delegate there for District VI

Be sure to introduce yourself to Pam Lewis & tell her that I told you to do so - she logs in here every now & again, and I'm her "partner in crime". She's good people, as a sister, a friend, a fellow redhead, and just to know! Since she has to go to MD, I'm going to the Alumnae meeting, so we can compare notes.

I didn't get this before DLC. But, I ended up having lunch with Pam and Torrey (ACD for D3) and another Alpha Upsilon alumna and IO you may know in the Waynesburg area. Since I was the only alumna there for the training, we went over the materials and had a good ole time over lunch! I had one collegian with me (she volunteered to ride back w/me so I wouldn't have to go alone!) and I think it was awesome for her to see us four alumnae, from different chapters and different years, all interacting as sisters!
I had already met Pam before (this is my 5th DLC) and communicated w/her re: NJ AA and the Alpha Upsilon badge I was high-bidder on.

I had forgotten about that - my bad!! Was it Karen (Waynesburgh) or Anne that y'all had luck with? Anne was the poor soul charged with training me!
