Dad's side:
My grandmother is a mix of Portugese and Brazillian...her mom's family from Brazil and father's from Portugal.
My grandfather's family came from Denmark somewhere...but that was a LONG time ago. Both sides settled in Massachusettes, which is where they still are.
Mom's side: (a little more complicated!)
My grandfather's family came from Northern England somewhere, and settled in Western New York.
My grandmother is unsure of her ancestry because her father was left on the doorstep of a monastery. The story is that he was the 'love-child' of a daughter of a wealthy NY family, who got pregnant by a stable boy or something...his adopted family is of German decent. Her mother is also of English decent.

My Dad's parents are from San Biagio, Sicily. We found them on the ellisisland.org web site. I am a second generation American on that side.
My mother's family can be traced back to the Louis & Clark Expedition. They are numerous nationalities, including English, Irish, Scottish, German, French, Swedish and Black Foot Native American (the guy who went on the Louis & Clark expedition married a native he met along the way).
I most identify with the Italian side because they had strong familly traditions still intact.

Well, I'm not really sure about my ethnic heritage - I know I have a significant amount of Irish though.
Regarding the family skeletons: My g-g-g(?) grandfather was John Wilkes Booth.

???
Not to sound mean or anything, but I didn't know JWB left any descendents. His brothers & sisters did, but I didn't know that he had any children?

Supposedly, JWB was quite the ahem 'ladies' man' and fathered a few illegitimate children.
And there is also the theory that he didn't die in that barn fire but escaped and lived many more years. People that believe this theory say that he fathered children after he was falsely pronounced dead.

Well that's good, at least one person's family stuck to "their people".
I'm so joking.

I've heard the rumors, I was just curious...
The last I heard, the DNA testing proved that the body in the Booth plot is indeed JWB. A client of mine has a relative who owns the Booth farm.
If you're into the assassination, take the JWB Escape Route tour, offered 4 times a year by the Surratt Society. It's absolutely fascinating!!

I'm one of those people who can take a look at somoene and tell them what their ethnicity is. So, I wanna try something with you. I wanna try to describe you based on what you've said your ethnicity is, ok? You tell me if I'm right.
You naturally have dark hair, you're somewhere between 5'5-5'9, you have a decent rack and you're not really tan unless you lay out or go to the bed. Unless you work out all the time, you weigh somewhere between 115-140. Am I right in any way?
