And the stuff from the website he was spouting off was a program that came from his administration.

Oh, I totally agree. And then when one of the reporters asked him how can he blame DEI so early in the investigation. He said because he has common sense, unlike most people. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Common sense is rare, which is exactly how his dumbass stumbled into the White House. If people had more of it, he wouldn’t have been on the ballot. Meanwhile, he acts like he’s some genius when he couldn’t even sense a pandemic coming with a briefing in front of him. His idea of “common sense” is just repeating whatever nonsense Fox News spoon-feeds him and trusting his army of inbred, prehistoric, cave-dwelling supporters, who have the intelligence of a backwards, clueless idiot to treat what he says like gospel.

WIFLSRN: So I just took my third, extremely long shower. I still smell. Today a skunked dog came into the clinic, super happy, tail wagging, completely unaware of the biohazard it had become. Before I could react, he jumped on me. Now, I smell like a skunked dog. Three showers later, the smell still lingers, and I’ve been banished to a separate room because my family can’t handle the stench.

Days like today, I wish I’d have stuck with Plan A and been an astrophysicist instead of a vet.

My daughters just told me I smell really bad. And my husband told me I smell like “burnt tires, mixed with garlic, and hot dog water.”

So… here we go, shower number four. Back to scrubbing myself with the same desperate concoction of household chemistry that I’ve already used three times, hoping this time it actually works completely or at least begins to dissipate.

During that press conference, he was reading a list of disabilities from some website saying that they were hiring people to run planes who had cognitive disablities and things. Part of why he was blaming DEI initiatives for the crash, but it was all BS.

Nope, just more BS by another idiot. The immune system is pretty complex, and there’s no solid evidence that one “race” has a stronger immune system than another. Things like genetics, diet, environment, and overall health play a bigger role. Some populations might have genetic traits that help with specific diseases, but immunity varies more by individual than by “race”. This is just another Trump administration division tactic that causes violence.

The owner should have had the dog on a leash. Either that, or waited until later to bring him in.
So, skunk spray is made up of thiols, which are sulfur-based compounds responsible for that strong, lingering odor. And these molecules are extremely potent, even in tiny amounts. They bind easily to fur, skin, and fabrics, which is why the smell sticks around.

On top of that, skunk spray also contains thioacetates, which are basically odorless at first but can turn into thiols when they’re exposed to oxygen or water. That’s why a lot of people think they’ve washed the smell off, only to have it come back even stronger when they get wet again.

Since skunk spray is oily, water alone won’t remove it, because it actually repels water. Regular soap isn’t strong enough to break it down either. That’s why we use a mix of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap. The peroxide oxidizes the thiols, turning them into sulfonic acids, which are water-soluble and no longer smell.

Even after treatment, the odor can stick around in hair, skin, and fabric because those materials absorb the compounds. I mean, it fades over time as natural oils and environmental exposure help break it down, but it’s not like it’s an instant fix. That’s why people sometimes still catch whiffs of skunk for a few days, even after multiple washes.

He did have him on a leash. This is an English Mastiff I’m talking about. They’re like really, really strong. This one was over 200 lbs. He brought the dog in because it’s really odd to see skunks out and about in Minnesota this time of year. I mean, it’s been really warm the last few days for this time of year, so occasionally they’ll come out for food, but mostly at night. During the day could mean something isn’t right about the skunk. Rabies is sometimes one of those reasons. Rabies isn’t very common in pets here in Minnesota, but skunks do carry the virus, big time. He just wanted to make sure his dog wasn’t bitten anywhere.

Did he wash the dog before bringing it in?

Does tomato juice work, or is that just an old wives' tale?

I'm sorry that happened to you, but your husband's descriptions are hysterical!

Phroz—I say “NO!” and “HELL NO!” to her idea of announcing her pregnancy in that manner. The news is way too important—it’s the rest of BOTH their lives!
He’s going to feel ambushed—and I cannot imagine a positive outcome. It’s almost like she’s afraid to say it outright, so she’ll butter him up with “cuteness”.

Now—if they’ve been trying and it’s welcome news—that’s a different story.

PLEASE keep us all in the loop on this continuing saga!!

If that was me, that information would have felt like somebody placed Vicks vapor rub under my nose.

Already? We started dating in October of '82! I'm almost 60 and he's almost 61. We don't have a lot of time here!

Seriously- I'm hoping it's just jewelry. I do think it's a little fast- and if I said yes now, it would be a while before I took that next step.

Yeah, but y’all dated for a minute, went your own ways until now. That was a long time, wide gap, and marriages in between those gaps. I could see if it was continuous.

If it is, he gave you a heads up to start thinking of how you'll respond
