I've liked the names Alexander (Xander) Blayne and Annalisse Jordan for well over 10 years.

I heard someone name their child that and the doctor wouldn't let her leave the hospital until she changed it. I heard this second-hand, so I don't know who or when.

Slightly off-topic, but I really want a big, flluffy tan cat named Aslan and a black cat name Bagheera. I like Aislan (sp?) for a girl, but I (and who knows who else) would always be thinking Aslan. I can't imagine the teasing.

One of my daughters swore that half the girls she knew at Mississippi State were double named "Mary (Something)". Double names seem to be getting big again here and I heard a woman commenting yesterday that 4 girls in her daughter's preschool are named "(Something) Grace".

What, no Mary Christmas? I know a girl named Merri and one named Merry Sara. I always thought that was kinda cool (but could see the teasing from a mile away).

I looked at the college degree on my counselor's wall and her middle name is "Moose."

I really don't know what I'd name my kids. I love the name Max, but it seems every other male these days is being named that.

Girls:
Inez
Alpha
Roxie
Majorie
I'd also really consider these names, but I have a feeling they're going to get major popular right as I start to have kids:
Clemetine
Joan

Boys:
Lazlo
Cyril (Insert name here) Ecspecially if it's the first born, it's family tradition
Thelonius
Theodore
James

I knew a kid in elementary school whose name was Frank Crank. No lie! And, he was Frank Crank, Jr., so it was his dad's name too.

^^^When I was in the 5th grade, I met a girl named Ruby Ruby. She thought it was the coolest thing in the world, but we lost touch before McDonald's commericials started featuring Eddie the Echo. I always wondered how that worked out for her.

When I taught 6th grade, there was a kid on one of the other teams named Zach Morris
He was probably born in 1993 or 1994, right at the end of Saved by the Bell's run.

I have loved Carrington for years now. But, I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to learn how to spell that as a 3 or 4 year old!

I've mentioned somewhere on GC in the past that all 9 of our daughters have C middle names (this was not planned, rather something my husband wanted to keep doing when the first 2 happened to have them) and I've kept a mental file of more in case we ever adopt again. They include:

Caithla
Chaille (pronounced 'shall')
Cahalin (pronounced Ca-HAY-lin)
Ceslie

My poor baby Madeleine always ended up wrapping her name half-way around the paper when she was in kindergarten!

Craaaaazy that you bumped this! I was reading it and about to bump it.

Someone mentioned how common double names are in some places. (Mary ___ or ___ Grace) They're really common in Norway. (Kjersti Margrethe, Anne Theresa, Else Lill, Aase-Berit...) My mom's name is Mary Jane which I LOVE but it has a different connotation sometimes...I also couldn't ever name a kid after one of my parents since they're divorced and have new spouses.

On that note, isn't it fun to plan ahead? Or just day dream, maybe? I'm not planning on popping any babies out for a whiiiile, but it's fun to think about it! Should I post my "Shayla"?

Logan Daniel/James
Alyssa Jane (except it can't be Jane cause that's my mom's middle name)
