Travel costs aren't too bad either- BG is about 1.5-2 hours from Ann Arbor. Ohio U is what, 2 hours from Columbus? I would imagine it is the same for other similar schools that play big SEC, ACC, etc. teams.

Yes, but it doesn't make the losses for MAC alumni feel any better.

Schools stopped caring about that a long time ago! My alma mater went as far as changing our name against alumni opposition to make it easier to make money with our football program as whipping boys for bigger schools. Apparently a directional name, ie. Northeast Louisiana University, was too difficult for people to understand, so we changed to the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Not to mention, we were National Champions at the 1AA (or whatever it used to be called...that was 15 years ago ) and we moved up to 1A just for the money.

I'm beyond making peace with this set up.

Yes. I think I shall post this many times on my FB. My arrogant USC friends are all silent now and it is beautiful.

I'm kind of surprised that none of the sports analysts I listened to made a note that Michigan has lost 3 years in a row and Rich Rod has been the coach for 3 years. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm originally from the state of West Virginia, so when Rich Rod first left for Michigan I was convinced he was the spawn of satan and I hoped he would one day burn in hell. Time and prayer have convinced me this was not exactly a Christian attitude, so now I just want him to lose his job and end up living out of a box in a Detroit alley....not a big difference I realize, but I'm taking baby steps here.
On another note - My ducks are 6-0 and moving up to #2 (THANK YOU SOUTH CAROLINA!), but one of our runnings backs was carted off in an ambulance and is spending the night in a hospital in stable condition we hear. Keep him in your thoughts.

What a shocker, the Ducks beat the Cougers. Wow.

Beating the cougs was expected (although we played flat, lost 2 of our star players, and they played decently, so it was uncomfortably close until the 4th). Alabama losing to SC and putting us in the number 2 spot was the shocker. Now if someone just knocks off Ohio State- other than Michigan of course since that would defeat my homeless, jobless, living out of a box in an alley Rich Rod goal.

I was on the phone with one of my customers on Saturday (I hate working Saturdays again) and she said that she had to go because she had company, they were watching a football game. Knowing that I had called Alabama, I asked, "Are you watchin' the 'Bama game?" She said Yes, and I screamed, "Go "Bama!!" I told her that I went to Kentucky and I'd call her back next week. I usually only watch college basketball and up north the only thing worth watching in college football is the Illinois-Wisconsin game. I forget how much fun SEC football is.
