Idaho Vandals 5-1 one more for bowl eligibility.

I'm glad I was supportive in the past few years where our total winning games are what we've done this season. I'm a wee bit cranky I will miss part of the game Saturday due to a conference/workshop, though my roommate and my fella will go and save me standing room for when I can show up to Black Out the Dome!

I know H1N1 has hit the OSU campus again, suppose we could use that as an excuse for the football team's poor showing today? Nah, didn't think so. Sigh.

UConn starting cornerback Jasper Howard was stabbed on-campus last night after yesterday's win over Louisville: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4574560 .

Storrs isn't exactly an unsafe campus; the place is in a state of shock right now over the stabbing.

FWIW, I just read that H1N1 impacted 4 of the offensive linemen. I guess that's a legit reason for not letting them play.

FAU has won TWO GAMES IN A ROW as of today!! Yay! Let's hope for three next week at HOMECOMING!

Unfortunately my other two teams (Miami FL and Michigan) lost, so my pro team (Oakland) has to win to have this logged as a good weekend in football.

While I fully get that TCU plays in an easier conference than some other top rated teams, it does not diminish my excitement at how well they are doing this year. Little ol' TCU, with an enrollment of around 7000, sitting pretty at #6 in the BCS!

I sure was pulling for Indiana to beat Iowa, but in wasn't in the cards (or the officials' plans ) today. Oh, well.

Anyway, after blowing out BYU last week- and an appearance on GameDay- things should be pretty easy this week for my Horned Frogs with a Homecoming game against UNLV.

Go Frogs!

Idaho Athletic Director Refuses to Board Boise State University Themed Plane

OH SNAP! We're playing the burros in Boise Saturday. I have a family event in Spokane so I can't go and I might have to sneak away to catch the kick off and watch the game in secret until the event is over. I hope to never have to ride that plane, but much like AD Spear chose to do I usually fly in and out of Spokane.

MOSCOW, Idaho — The Boise State vs. Idaho rivalry has taken to some not-so-friendly skies.

Idaho athletic director Rob Spear says he declined to board a Horizon Air flight after learning the airplane was painted in Boise State's blue and orange colors.

Spear was traveling to Boise on Saturday for fundraising events. He requested another flight and then drove about 90 miles north to fly from the Spokane, Wash., airport to Boise.

Boise State and Horizon Air unveiled the plane, which sports the team logo on its tail, as an ode to the Broncos earlier this month.

Spear says he'll board the plane after Horizon Air paints an airplane for the Vandals, whose football team will try to beat the No. 6 Broncos this Saturday for the first time since 1998.

^^^ That is pretty funny!

So, I know that I just posted on my little 'ol TCU, but I just can't suppress my excitement that not only are they ranked #4 but that ESPN Gameday is heading to our campus!

For alumni like myself, who suffered through 2-9 seasons routinely, this is just unbelieveable. In addition, TCU has less than 9000 students- it is really a small school by Division I (or whatever that new BCS term is)standards. Things like this just don't happen to us.

Anyway, the ESPN broadcast will be from the heart of campus. Fun times.

Oh, thanks for sharing! Those were funny.

There have been tons of Boise students/fans invade TCU blogs, websites, fan sites, etc with lots of smack and trash talk. Some of the posts say that they should receive the automatic BCS bid- and not us- because they beat OU a few years ago.

Um, Einsteins, WE beat YOU last year.

The best part of these blogs/sites/etc is that all the Utah and BYU fans have been posting too. Only, they have been 100% supportive of us. They say things like "Well, I am a Ute fan, but I recognize that TCU is really good this year. I hope that Utah wins this weekend, but if they don't then we really hope that you run the table! We will be cheering for you in whatever bowl that you get." There are dozens and dozens of posts like that, and not a single one with smack talk. Mormons. Nice people.

So, go Vandals! You will have tons of fans in Fort Worth this weekend.

(oh, and geez, it is really quiet in here these days. Seems like you and I are the only ones around these parts anymore! )

For the first time in weeks, Virginia Tech actually looked like a solid football team last night. I don't know about the rest of you, but this weekend's line-up doesn't look very exciting to me. Hubby and I might actually get some yard work done since there's no good football to keep us inside.
