A couple years ago I met Tiger Woods in a hotel elevator in Las Vegas! It was pretty cool, he was a very nice guy. I didn't even know it was him until he got off the elevator! Still, it was awesome!
I also met John Stamos (Uncle Jesse in Full House) when he was on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He was also a really nice guy!
That's about as close as I've gotten to fame!

Ed Norton- not the Opie and Anthony- Ed Norton?? Let me know!
Larry Bird
Had drinks with him at his restaurant in Terre Haute (The Boston Connection) --
Got his autograph and he bought my sorority sister ( it was her 21st b'day) a sweatshirt from his giftshop.
He is the best!!!! So friendly and sincere! Sue

I posted on like the first page, but I've thought of some more.
When I was in 8th grade I went to Opry Land and stayed in the Opryland Hotel. It happened to be the weekend of miss teen or something and I met Miss Alaska. She gave me this pin that was "courtesy of the state of Alaska."
At City Stages(all alabamians should know what I'm talking about) Splendor was there. Me and some of my friends were walking around and ran into them!!! The lead singer kissed each of us on the cheek and I took a drag off of his cigar. (yuck, I know)
I've also met the dudes from Shades Apart.
I got Bowling for Soup's autographs and a pic!!!!
My friend won tickets to live in the X lounge for Hootie and the Blowfish, so I got their autographs too!!!
Has anyone outside of AL heard of: Vertical Herizon, Bowling for Soup, Splendor, or Shades Apart? They're small bands but have had many a song played on radio stations around here. Just wondering how far their fame reached.

I have heard of Vertical Herizon. X103 in Indianapolis plays them all the time. Hey Sue, I've never met anyone as famous as Larry Bird in Terre Haute, but the Colts are on Rose campus for their summer training now. They were gone last weekend for a scrimmmage game while I was there though Also, one of my friends lives right next door to the channel 10 weatherman, David Wire, small time local celebrities

I have a Vertical Horizon CD. I don't know about other places, but they're played on VA stations all the time. I had just assumed everybody knew who they were.

I've had a couple brushes with fame that all came as a result of being in the marching band. One year we were at the Fiesta Bowl and my friends and I were at a restaurant where we saw George Clooney. One of my friends sent him a drink and then we went over and spoke for a few minutes. (No pictures or autographs though---didn't want to ask)
Then 2 years later we were at the Sugar Bowl and John Goodman was on the sidelines (he was going to do the coin toss) A bunch of people went up to him but my friend and I got to shake his hand and take a picture with him.
I've also spoken to Burt Reynolds on the sidelines but he's always at our football games--he's a big FSU supporter.
I've seen a bunch of other celebrities on the sidelines but I can't really remember who because I didn't have personal contact with them. I'll let you know if I think of anyone major...

I love Vertical Herizon!! Great songs!
Steve, I read that my beloved Colts were at your campus - my sister and I were very jealous!!! But good thing I was not there or the campus cops would of had to pull me off Payton Manning!!!

I haven't met him, but I just found out the Chris Klien (American Pie) is my dentist's wife's nephew and godson. I thought that was so wild! She was just with him and Katie Holmes this weekend.

He's also a Lambda Chi at TCU, so I guess that makes you're dentist's wife my aunt, haha

I was a TV director for many years, so the list includes,
Every president (except the present one) since Nixon.
Many sports figures including brother Delt John Elway.
Probably the over-all biggest name was Bob Hope.
Someone mentioned George Clooney. His father Nick did a morning TV show which I was live announcer for during summers when I was in College.
Also directed the world pool feed of a Papal Mass and Prayer Vigil celebrated by John-Paul II -- although I did not get to meet him. Interesting assignment for a Presbyterian.

I met "Chunk" from the Goonies movie at a swank Hollywood nightspot - Skybar and also rubbed elbows with Malique (sp), a male nurse on ER.

I just caught up with this post and wanted to put my 2 cents in. I have met very few "celebrities." Coming from small town Iowa, that's not usually a place they hang out. I did see a post about Nick Collison from Kansas however. Nick went to high school about 15 minutes from me and we played each other in conference all the time. I must say that I also saw probably one of his most embarrassing moments! He is a very cool guy though and definitely a true gentleman.
I must live in the hotbed of basketball b/c I have also met Dean Oliver, Raef LaFrentz(?), and many of the basketball players from Iowa Hawkeye teams of the past. I have also met Bobby Knight (way before the Neil Reed thing), and Bill Bradley (former New York Knick and politician).
