Most definitely. And, it's not going to change the "why didn't he leave sooner?" comments. The church will be under scrutiny for the duration of this election season. The beginning of the end was that race speech which, while eloquent perhaps, would have been a great opportunity to clarify the church's (and Rev. Wright's) stance on things in a way that wasn't as threatening as what Wright had been saying.

Being that Wright is an Omega and many of Obama's close friends are Omegas such as Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., I wonder if Obama has ever been approached by Omega?

Actually, yes. Santita Jackson is a Soror initiated at Alpha Chapter.

Well, actually Michelle already accepted an invitation to become an honorary AKA. I predict that eventually Barack will enter one of the NPHC fraternities as most outstanding brothers eventually do.

She has not been initiated because there may be some technical issues...so I am still holding out hope.

Technical issues? Are you referring to the issue of exclusiveness? If so, isn't it the same for Delta Sigma Theta?
The NPHC fraternities also practice exclusiveness.
Barack Obama being an honorary member of Alpha Nu Omega at Upper Iowa University may not be an issue because that is not a "real" nationally established fraternity. Also, Jesse Jackson, Sr. is a member of Omega Psi Phi and an honorary member of Alpha Nu Omega at Upper Iowa University, so it maybe is not a factor in the case of this local fraternity.

An acceptance of an offer is not complete until initiation. There have been instances with honorary membership where an offer was extended and accepted but was then later rejected or rescinded.

Really, you mean...NPHC frats practice exclusivity...too?!?!?!?!?! Who woulda thunk it?!
I'm just finding humor in the fact that people care about the topic of honorary membership for Michelle and Barack Obama. Michelle's not even inducted yet, if ever. Barack hasn't even been OFFERED as far as the public knows and people are theorizing on which frat would extend an offer to him. If any. Geesh.
I kind of wonder if either has done half as much as the accomplished and contributory people whose honorary membership has flown under the radar. I get the black Presidential candidate hype but I guess the hype doesn't carry over to their potential membership in NPHC orgs for me.
